Is the Mahindra XEV 7e's power too much for Indian roads?
31 December 2024 10:51
What I'm more concerned about is range. That's all the power in the world if the battery drains too quickly. I’d rather have a more balanced approach that has decent power and longer range.
Is the Mahindra XEV 7e's power too much for Indian roads?

You guys are not getting it. In an EV, this kind of power is much safer than in an ICE car. It’s better in its weight distribution and more controllable thanks to instant torque.
Is the Mahindra XEV 7e's power too much for Indian roads?
31 December 2024 10:51
But let’s be real, most buyers of this car will never use half of that power. It's just for bragging rights. Totally unnecessary for everyday use.
Is the Mahindra XEV 7e's power too much for Indian roads?
31 December 2024 10:51
I disagree. It’s always good to have reserve power for safety. In emergency situations, it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
Off roading is great, but AWD is not everything. Before we get too excited we need to see the ground clearance and angles. Though electric torque could be a game changer!
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
99% of XEV 7e owners will never take it off road, let’s be real. The AWD is just for better on road handling and at best maybe some light trails.
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
I feel Mahindra's off road experience with Thar will work well here. Even if it’s electric, they know what it takes to make a capable off roader.
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
The problem is going to be the weight of the batteries off road. It will not sink in soft terrain, but will affect stability on inclines. I remain sceptical about its true off road potential.
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
You are forgetting about the ability to control electric motors with high precision torque. All this may render XEV 7e superior to the conventional AWD systems in some instances.
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
When off roading I am more concerned with range. In demanding conditions, electric vehicles lose charge quickly. If you can’t get back, what’s the point of off road capability?
Will the XEV 7e's AWD system turn it into a true off roader?
31 December 2024 10:51
The real question is how long will it last? Do the electric components work in water crossings, dust, and constant vibrations? It's what will tell us if it's a true off roader.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
I love the clean look! We need to get away from cluttered dashboards. And it will be that much easier to keep clean in our dusty conditions.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
Touchscreens are a nightmare to use while driving, no way. I’ll take the physical buttons any day. It's just form over function, with this minimalist trend.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
It’s not about minimalism; it’s about adaptability. A UI can give us all the controls we need without cluttering the dash. It's the future, folks!

Ever tried using a touchscreen with sweaty hands in summer? Or with gloves in winter? This design is not suitable for Indian conditions.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
I think it'll be fine. Nowadays, most people use their smartphones every day, so adjusting to a touchscreen dominated car interface won't be a big deal.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
You're all missing the point. Distracted driving is the real issue. The more touchscreen dependency we have, the more eyes off the road we have. It's a safety concern.
Is the XEV 7e’s dashboard too minimalist for Indian consumers?
31 December 2024 10:51
I’ll reserve judgment until I see it in person. These minimalist designs sometimes look great in photos but feel cheap in person. Hope Mahindra gets it right.
Will the 7e's potential as a 7 seater come at the expense of performance?
31 December 2024 10:51
7 seats in a performance EV? That's trying to do too much. It will surely reduce the range and flying characteristics. Mahindra should do 5 seats and go for maximum performance.
Will the 7e's potential as a 7 seater come at the expense of performance?
31 December 2024 10:51
I disagree. It's way more practical for families with 7 seats. Not everyone wants to sacrifice performance for space. This could be a game-changer.
