For people with mobility issues this could be huge. Some folks might find it easier to get in and out if they were able to swivel the seat towards the door.

I wonder about the safety side of it. How do these seats behave in a crash? I wouldn't trust my family in those until I saw some serious testing.

It's innovative, but I’m afraid it'll make the price too high. Of course, cool features are great, just as long as they don’t price the car out of the reach of the average family.

This might be the beginning of a whole new interior design philosophy. If it takes off, we could see a whole lot more flexible seating in future cars.
Do you think the AI enhanced driving features the Ioniq 9 will have are a step towards full autonomy or just fancy cruise control?
02 January 2025 11:07
While it’s definitely a step towards autonomy, we’re still a long way from truly self driving cars. AI is more about your capabilities and your position as a driver than it is about replacing you.
Do you think the AI enhanced driving features the Ioniq 9 will have are a step towards full autonomy or just fancy cruise control?
02 January 2025 11:07
Fancy cruise control, 100%. A car is not really autonomous until it can do everything a human can do without human intervention. It’s just a more advanced driver assist system.
Do you think the AI enhanced driving features the Ioniq 9 will have are a step towards full autonomy or just fancy cruise control?
02 January 2025 11:07
I think it's somewhere in the middle. These AI features aren’t full autonomy, but they learn and adapt in ways that basic cruise control never could. It’s laying the groundwork for future autonomous systems.
Do you think the AI enhanced driving features the Ioniq 9 will have are a step towards full autonomy or just fancy cruise control?
02 January 2025 11:07
The real question is: how much will these features actually improve safety? Whether we call it autonomous or not, if they can reduce accidents by a significant amount, that's a win.
Do you think the AI enhanced driving features the Ioniq 9 will have are a step towards full autonomy or just fancy cruise control?

These systems worry me because they make drivers too complacent. The AI could get too relied on by people and they would forget to look out for the road.

The predictive energy management aspect is interesting. That could be a game changer for EVs if it can have a big impact on range and efficiency.

It’s all about the user experience. Even if it’s not full autonomy, if these AI features take some of the stress out of driving and make it more fun, that’s a big step forward.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
I find I’m constantly getting better range than advertised. On the highway it's astonishingly efficient even at higher speeds.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
It's good on efficiency but I'm noticing a huge drop in range when it's winter. More so than my previous EV.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
It's a mixed bag. Great on long highway trips, but city driving seems to suck up more range than you might expect.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
The Ioniq 6 appears to be more on par with its range estimates than my friend’s Tesla. Less range anxiety for sure.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
It's very efficient, but I would've liked if they'd given it a slightly bigger battery. I sometimes think I'm giving up range for efficiency.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
The Ioniq 6 is definitely one of the most efficient cars I've ever owned as an EV owner. It's especially good at keeping the range at highway speeds.
What is the Ioniq 6's efficiency compared to other EVs in the real world?
02 January 2025 10:57
It's good real world efficiency, but nothing to write home about. As with other recent EVs I've driven, it's about on par.
So how practical is the Ioniq 6 really considering its unique design?
02 January 2025 10:57
I expected the trunk to be smaller, but the frunk makes up for it. Groceries are fine, but a big Costco run? Forget about it.

It's been great, but I was worried about practicality. The trunk is surprisingly big and the back seats are surprisingly roomy.
