I'm on the fence. There are some angles that look great, others that don't. It's definitely eye catching, which is a good thing for a compact car in this price range.

The N Line is a nice compromise of performance and practicality. It's not a track monster, but it's a hell of a lot more fun than a regular Elantra without giving up daily usability.

It's just clever marketing. If you want a real sports sedan, save up for the full Elantra N. All show and no go, the N Line.
02 January 2025 10:24
The N Line gives you a lot of bang for your buck for the price. It's not the fastest but it's a massive step up from the base model and I feel special driving it.
02 January 2025 10:24
I cross shopped the N Line with the Civic Si, honestly, the Hyundai felt more refined and comfortable for daily use. It's sporty enough for me.
02 January 2025 10:24
For people who want something sportier but aren’t willing to pay for or justify the impracticality of a full on performance car, it’s a good entry point. It’s a 'sports sedan lite' kinda thing.
02 January 2025 10:24
The N Line is more about the look than anything else. The power bump's pretty modest; the suspension tweaks are nice. It’s for the people who want to feel sporty without being a true sports car.
02 January 2025 10:24
I’ve followed my N Line a few times and it’s no race car, but it’s surprisingly capable and fun. If you want to take it further, it’s a great platform for mild modifications.

I’ve had my 2018 Elantra now at over 200k miles and it’s been rock solid. It’s just regular maintenance, and it keeps on ticking. I do think some of the reliability issues are blown out of proportion or reflect older models.
02 January 2025 10:24
The complete opposite has been my experience. My engine light came on in my 2021 Elantra with only 15k miles on it and I've been waiting months for the parts due to all the recalls. It's been a nightmare.
02 January 2025 10:24
It really depends on the year and engine I think. So far, the newer Smartstream engines seem to be doing well, but it’s too early to tell long term. Maybe if you're worried, look at a certified pre owned with some warranty left.
02 January 2025 10:24
No car is perfect, let’s be real. It's hard to beat Hyundai's 10/100k warranty, however. For a long time, if something goes wrong, you’re covered. I’ll pay a lot for that peace of mind.
02 January 2025 10:24
I've owned both a Toyota and a Hyundai and honestly the Elantra has been as reliable as my old Corolla. A lot of it, I think, is to do with how well you maintain the car. Regular oil changes and maintaining the schedule are a long way.
02 January 2025 10:24
Hyundai’s reputation might be improving reliability, but the resale value still takes a hit. If you’re planning on selling the car a few years down the road, this is something to keep in mind.

I work at a dealership, and we see a lot less problems with Elantras than we do with some other models. The vast majority of horror stories you hear online are the vocal minority.

If Toyota decides to bring the Rush to the Indian markets, the launch date is expected to be between March and July of 2019. There will be subtle differences between the feature list of the global version and Indian version of the Toyota Rush. To keep the price low, the company would, most probably, opt for just 2 airbags instead of the 6 airbags that are available in the international variants.
