It's a real pain, man. My unicorn's kick-start is more like a kick-pray at this point. Honda needs to address this ASAP.

I've found a workaround—turn the ignition on and off a few times before kicking. Works like a charm for me!

Honestly, I don't even bother with the kickstart anymore. The electric start is reliable enough, and it's not worth the hassle.

It's definitely a design flaw. I've heard it's related to the decompression mechanism not engaging properly. Honda should recall and fix this.

The kick-start problem is overblown. Sure, it's annoying, but it's not like it affects the bike's performance otherwise.

I took mine to a local mechanic (not Honda service), and they adjusted something in the kick-start mechanism. It's been working fine since then.

It's not just the new models. My 2020 Unicorn has the same problem. I think it's a fundamental issue with the design.

People are making too big a deal out of this. How often do you really need to use the kickstart anyway? The electric start works fine.

I was so focused on getting my new GP to break in that I didn't realize I was almost out of fuel. I ended up pushing it to a petrol pump all decked out in my new riding gear. What a humbling experience!

Once I got my baggy pants caught on the footpeg while getting off the bike. I ended up doing an awkward dance trying to free myself from this while people watched. Not my finest moment.
