What's the deal with the Unicorn 160's kick-start issues?

The Honda Unicorn 160, particularly the newer BS6 models, has been plagued by reports of kick-start problems. Many owners have complained that the kick-start mechanism fails to work consistently, often refusing to engage or turn over the engine. This issue seems to be widespread enough to have caught the attention of the motorcycling community, with various forums and social media platforms buzzing with discussions about potential causes and fixes. Some riders have reported that the problem persists even after multiple visits to service centers, leading to frustration and concerns about the bike's overall reliability. The kick-start feature, while not essential due to the presence of an electric starter, is still considered an important backup option by many riders, especially in situations where the battery might be weak or dead.
