How is the Avenger 220 in long distance touring?

They're fine for weekend trips, but if you're serious touring you'll want something more substantial. It has a small fuel tank and needs to be stopped frequently, and it doesn’t like to be fully loaded with luggage.

With a few changes it can make a nice touring bike. Take away the windscreen, add a bigger windscreen, some saddle bags, and maybe a more comfortable seat and you're good to go. It’s about figuring it all out so it works for you.

I wouldn't use it for long distance touring. It doesn’t have the power and features of dedicated touring bikes. If you had something that was made to do that you would be better off.

It's a mixed bag. It’s comfortable and reliable on one hand. On the other hand, it’s not really designed for long distance hauling. It will work, but it won't be the best experience.

In fact, it's pretty good for solo touring on a budget. However, with a pillion and luggage on board, you'll soon realise its limitations.

I love it for touring! It’s comfortable enough for all day riding and it’s simple, which means less can go wrong. All you need to do is plan your trips around its range.

Keep it as is! Its biggest selling point is the Avenger's simplicity. Not everything has to be tech laden. Sometimes, less is more.

Bajaj will definitely need to update it. Newer models compare to the bike outdated. It could be a refresh to bring in a lot of new buyers who want modern features.

I believe there is a middle ground. Let’s keep the classic look and feel, but go with a modern engine, add ABS and a digital display.

They should have the current model and release an upgraded version of it. They can do that so they can cater to the traditional as well as the modern riders.

We need a major overhaul. The Avenger is on the right track, but it can’t stand still. It would go a long way with a new engine, better brakes and some tech upgrades.

I would be for leaving it as is. One of the few bikes that still are easy to work on & maintain. Not everyone needs or wants a computer on wheels.

But they have to update it, not too much. Maybe a little more power, better suspension, and ABS. Keep the classic cruiser look and feel but.

Relevant? Maybe. Outdated? Definitely. But Bajaj seems to have forgotten that this bike even exists. It really needs a major overhaul or just gracefully retire.
The Avenger 220 seems to be more comfortable than cruisers that cost twice as much.

I rode both the Avenger 220 and even some of the more expensive cruisers, and the Avenger does quite well for itself. Yes, it's not all that fancy, but long rides are surprisingly comfortable.
