How will the launch of an Avenger 400 affect Bajaj’s current lineup, especially the Dominar?

The real question is pricing. But if they price it too close to the Dominar, it could get confusing. They would have to make clear separation in the lineup.

Elevating the entire brand could be a good move. Bajaj with two strong offerings in 400cc might help them be perceived as a premium manufacturer.
How will the launch of an Avenger 400 affect Bajaj’s current lineup, especially the Dominar?

I'm afraid it might end up letting the Dominar slide. But Bajaj doesn’t have the best track record of keeping multiple high end models on the road at the same time.
How will the launch of an Avenger 400 affect Bajaj’s current lineup, especially the Dominar?

Perhaps they’ll leverage it as an opportunity to make the Dominar more upmarket. But raise it to 500cc and slot the Avenger 400 into the lineup.

Dominar sales could benefit from it in fact. People might come in to see the Avenger and end up liking the sportier Dominar. It could also mean more sales overall.
Will the Bajaj Avenger 400 ever see the day?
14 January 2025 07:48
I doubt it'll ever happen. Bajaj appears to be quite happy milking the current Avenger lineup without any significant investment. With the partnerships with KTM and Triumph, they are probably too busy to cover a new Avenger platform.

Never say never! The biking market in India is changing, and Bajaj could surprise us. The engine is Dominar’s, so it’s not that big of a leap to think they’ll finally let us have the Avenger 400 we’ve been fantasizing over.
Will the Bajaj Avenger 400 ever see the day?
14 January 2025 07:48
I just think it’s a matter of time. The demand for mid capacity cruisers is growing and Bajaj can’t ignore it forever. They are probably working on it behind the scenes to make sure it is perfect before they launch.
Will the Bajaj Avenger 400 ever see the day?
14 January 2025 07:48
Honestly, I've given up hope. We would have seen something by now, if they were serious about it. There have been years of rumors, nothing concrete. Now I’m looking at other options.
Will the Bajaj Avenger 400 ever see the day?

Perhaps they’re waiting for the right time. The success of bikes such as the RE Meteor may have Bajaj rethinking their game plan. When the market is just right, they could have an Avenger 400 as their ace in the hole.
Will the Bajaj Avenger 400 ever see the day?
14 January 2025 07:48
I think they're in analysis paralysis. They know there’s a demand, but they’re probably overthinking it and worried about cannibalizing Dominar sales or not meeting the expectations.
Will the Bajaj Avenger 400 ever see the day?

At this point, the Avenger 400 is the bike equivalent of Half Life 3. We all want it, but it’s a running joke in the community. That's something I'll believe when I see it.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?
14 January 2025 06:52
Absolutely! Avenger 220 is a good bike to start with. It’s not too powerful that it’s intimidating, but it has enough oomph to keep things interesting. And that low seat height is a confidence builder for new riders.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?

It's not ideal, but I would say okay. The forward set footpegs may not be easy for newbies to get the riding techniques right. You might be better off in a more normal riding position.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?
14 January 2025 06:52
It depends on the rider. If you like cruisers and wanna stick with that, then yeah it's a good one. If you don’t know what kind of riding you’ll like, it may be best to get something a little more versatile first.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?
14 January 2025 06:52
I began with an Avenger 220 and loved it. It's forgiving enough for beginners, but has enough power that it will grow with you as you get better. So just be careful of its weight when you're just starting out.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?

I think personally it’s a bit too heavy for a first bike. Low speed manoeuvres and parking may prove difficult for new riders. Building confidence may be better served by something lighter.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?

It’s a good option, but not the best. Relaxed ergonomics are great for city riding, but could create bad habits later on for more spirited riding.
Is the Avenger 220 a good bike for new riders to begin with?

It's a pretty good first bike. Not too expensive, easy to ride and comfortable. All I ask is that you are comfortable with its size before you commit.
How is the Avenger 220 in long distance touring?
14 January 2025 06:52
I’ve done a few 500+ km trips on my Avenger 220 and it does it like a champ. It's not a full blown tourer, but for budget touring, it's surprisingly capable. Long rides really benefit from the comfortable riding position.
