Does the F250's headlight suffice for night riding on dark country roads?

The stock headlight is fine, but I tacked on some auxiliary lights to see a bit better on rural roads. It’s a huge difference, especially for spotting animals.
Does the F250's headlight suffice for night riding on dark country roads?

For the bike's intended use, I think it's just fine. For occasional use it’s great, but if you’re doing a lot of night riding on pitch black roads, you might want something more powerful.

It's a bit too cool for my taste with the color temperature of the LED. In long night rides it can cause eye strain. I’m thinking of switching to a warmer LED bulb.

The headlight on the F250 is like daylight compared to one that comes from a Royal Enfield! Even on dark country roads, it's more than enough for my needs.

It's good, but not great. It could be better optimized. I'm in the habit of using high beam more often than is good for oncoming traffic.
Is the Pulsar F250 too aggressive for daily commuting?
30 January 2025 09:06
Not at all! I've been riding my F250 to commute for 6 months and it's very comfortable. They're not as extreme as full on sport bikes. It gives you a nice balance of sporty feel without killing your wrists.

That said, it’s definitely more aggressive than an upright naked bike, but that’s part of the appeal. For 30 40 minute rides I fine with it but for anything longer I start to feel it in my lower back. Not really ideal if you have a really long commute.

It is a more relaxed riding position than you would expect. The ergonomics were done well by Bajaj. Just to be clear, I even added some bar risers to mine for a more comfortable daily use. A big difference mod.

In fact, I switched from the F250 for my commute to the N250. For me, the naked version of the fully upright position just works better in stop and go traffic. But the F250 is good for weekend rides!

All of it is down to personal preference, and your body type. I'm 6'2" and the F250 is perfectly fine for daily rides. They may feel more stretched out if you have shorter riders. It’s best to test ride it for a good amount of time before deciding.

An aggressive position keeps me alert in traffic. It feels like a more connected bike to me than my old commuter. It took a while to get used to, but I love it now for daily riding.

I think it's a bit much for pure city use. On heavy traffic, it can be a pain in the weight and turning radius. On open roads you can utilize aerodynamics and sporty handling, and it really shines in those situations.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?
30 January 2025 09:06
Absolutely! In sudden braking situations the 2 channel ABS on my F250 have saved my bacon a couple of times. You can really see the difference in wet conditions where the single channel would normally just slide out the back.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?
30 January 2025 09:06
I don’t honestly see much difference from my old bike with single channel ABS. Perhaps it’s because I’m a bit used to proper braking technique, but I haven’t had any situations where the rear ABS has kicked in.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?

One of those features you hope you’ll never need, but you’re glad it’s there. For the added safety (especially if you are a new rider and might panic brake in an emergency), I think it's worth it.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?

The dual channel system is definitely more confidence inspiring. I don’t have to worry about locking up either wheel, so I can brake harder. On long rides fatigue may affect your braking finesse and it’s particularly nice.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?

I turned off the rear ABS on my F250. In corners I prefer to have some rear wheel slide for extra control. Although the front ABS is nice to have.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?
30 January 2025 09:06
If you are not coming from an ABS bike, then the difference is night and day. It's amazing being able to brake hard without fear of lowsiding. I believe dual channel should be standard on all bikes.
Does the F250 2 channel ABS make a difference over single channel systems?

I think it is overkill for a 250cc bike. That extra cost could have gone to a slipper clutch or better suspension. The class of motorcycle is more than enough for single channel ABS.
So is the Pulsar F250 really worth paying a premium over the N250 for, or are you simply paying for looks?
30 January 2025 08:19
As a rider of both, I can tell you that the F250 is worth it. On long rides, the fairing does make a difference, and it just feels more substantial. Plus, it turns more heads!
