Does Apollo IE’s extreme design come at the cost of functionality?

Functionality is relative. Yeah, for a normal car, that’s impractical. For a track-focused hypercar? It's perfectly functional.

I would say it improves the very thing that makes most sense – performance. It'd stick to the track like glue, sure, but being a pain in the ass to park..
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?
30 January 2025 10:12
Absolutely justified. Buying a car is not only just a car in this case. It is indistinguishable from art and engineering.
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?
30 January 2025 10:12
No way. In the end it is just a car. For such an amount of money you could buy a fleet of super cars and have more fun.
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?
30 January 2025 10:12
It's justified by the market. Nothing is worth more than what people are willing to pay for it. Simple supply and demand.
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?
30 January 2025 10:12
I might argue it is overpriced, but not by much. It’s not worth a premium of that amount for the engineering, materials, and exclusivity.
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?
30 January 2025 10:12
Justified for the buyer, maybe. For the average person? Absolutely insane. That’s the point; this is not for the average person.
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?
30 January 2025 10:12
What’s this about desire, and not justification. To know if it is worth it, you’re not our target market.
Is $2.7 million too much to pay for the Apollo IE?

It’s very reasonably priced for what it is, considering the amount of hand-craftsmanship and the limited numbers.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?
30 January 2025 10:12
Absolutely! What we have here with the IE is a pure, unadulterated hypercar experience that may never come again. It sounded like the last roar of the dinosaurs before the meteor hit.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?
30 January 2025 10:12
No, it's not the last, nah. These insane machines will always people willing to pay for them. Pagani or Koenigsegg – they're still kicking out crazy ICE hypercars.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?
30 January 2025 10:12
It is, for sure, definitely one of the last, but not the last. Before regulations completely kill off ICE hypercars, I think we’ll see one or two more extreme ones.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?
30 January 2025 10:12
The IE is a statement more than the (last) true hypercar. This shows that there is still a passion for the raw, mechanical beasts although electric is the way of the future.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?
30 January 2025 10:12
I would say the 'true hyper car' died years ago when they all decided to finally add mechanical traction to the mix. The IE is truly just a really cool throwback.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?

Being the last is not desirable, being timeless is. Whether it was his best work or not, that will become irrelevant because the IE will be remembered as being one of the greats.
Is this the end of the true hypercar with the Apollo Intensa Emozione?
30 January 2025 10:12
However, I'm not so sure that's the end of what the IE is, it seems to be a love letter to the old school hypercar. But as long as there are passionate engineers and people with enough money, there will continue to be extreme machines like this.
But will Apollo IE have any meaningful impact on hypercar design?
30 January 2025 10:09
Definitely. It’s the most aero you can do with a road legal car. Other manufacturers will take note.
But will Apollo IE have any meaningful impact on hypercar design?
30 January 2025 10:09
I doubt it. It’s just too extreme for most tastes. It's not going to be a trend, I can tell you that. There will have been dust blown in someone's eye; that's all. It will be remembered as a curiosity.
But will Apollo IE have any meaningful impact on hypercar design?
30 January 2025 10:09
I can't see that it's going to have much of an impact at all on mainstream design, but it might — it could influence something that can go into track-focused cars.
But will Apollo IE have any meaningful impact on hypercar design?
30 January 2025 10:09
Rather it will influence bold design choices rather than copies of specific style.
