Volvo XC60 Momentum (Diesel) Updates

The Volvo XC60 Momentum (Diesel) has seen a significant update in its powertrain options, with the 2024 model year discontinuing the diesel variants in favor of petrol and hybrid options. This shift is part of Volvos broader strategy to electrify its lineup. I think this move will appeal to those looking for more environmentally friendly options, but it might disappoint diesel enthusiasts.

In the Indian market, the Volvo XC60 Momentum, previously available with a diesel engine, is no longer an option due to the global phase-out of diesel engines by Volvo. Instead, buyers can opt for the B5 mild-hybrid petrol engine or the T8 plug-in hybrid. This change reflects Volvos commitment to reducing emissions. I believe this transition will be beneficial in the long run, despite the initial adjustment.

The 2023 Volvo XC60 Momentum (Diesel) was praised for its fuel efficiency, with some owners reporting an average of 42.6 mpg, which is impressive for a vehicle of its size. However, with the discontinuation of diesel models, this aspect will no longer be relevant for new buyers.

Volvo has enhanced the safety features of the XC60, including the Momentum trim, with advanced air purification systems now standard on higher trims. Although the diesel variant is no longer available, these safety upgrades will continue to be a selling point for the petrol and hybrid models. I think these features will be a major draw for safety-conscious buyers.

The interior of the Volvo XC60 Momentum has been lauded for its comfort and upscale design. Despite the shift away from diesel, the interior remains a highlight, with high-quality materials and a calming cabin environment. I believe the interior is one of the strongest selling points of this vehicle.

In terms of design, the Volvo XC60 Momentum retains its elegant exterior and Scandinavian luxury appeal. The 2024 model introduces new exterior paint colors and trim options, such as the Black Edition package, which adds a touch of sophistication.

The Volvo XC60 Momentum (Diesel) was known for its smooth driving experience and robust suspension, making it a favorite among fleet buyers. While the diesel option is no longer available, the petrol and hybrid variants continue to offer a comfortable ride.

Volvos decision to discontinue diesel engines in the XC60 has been influenced by increasing environmental regulations and the companys goal to become carbon neutral. This move aligns with global trends towards electrification and hybrid vehicles.

The Volvo XC60 Momentum (Diesel) had some technical issues reported, such as software updates needed for the infotainment system and safety alerts. These issues have been addressed in the newer models, ensuring a smoother user experience.

In India, the Volvo XC60 Momentum was popular for its balance of luxury and practicality. Although the diesel variant is no longer an option, the petrol and hybrid models continue to offer a compelling package for those seeking a premium SUV. I think the XC60 remains a strong contender in its segment.

The second-generation Volvo XC60, which includes the Momentum trim, was launched in 2017 and received a mid-life facelift in 2021. This update brought improved suspension, advanced technology, and enhanced safety features, all of which are still relevant in the current petrol and hybrid models.
