I think the Exeos legacy is still felt in SEATs current lineup, where they continue to innovate and improve their models.

The SEAT Exeo, a large family car, was produced from 2008 to 2013 and was essentially a rebadged Audi A4 B7 generation with unique styling changes to the front and rear. It was built on the Volkswagen Group B7 platform and featured engines mounted longitudinally. The Exeo was available in four-door saloon and five-door estate styles. The production of the SEAT Exeo ended in May 2013, with a total of 81,552 units produced. There was no direct replacement for the Exeo after its production ceased. This marked the end of an era for SEATs flagship model in the D-segment. I believe the lack of a direct successor left a gap in SEATs lineup that took some time to fill.

The SEAT Exeo was officially revealed at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. At its launch, it was confirmed to be available in just one body style initially, as a four-door, five-seater saloon. The Exeo incorporated interior trim from the Audi A4 Cabriolet and used extensive A4 B6 and B7 interior equipment. The name Exeo derives from the Latin word exire, meaning to go beyond, breaking SEATs recent tradition of naming its cars after Spanish cities. This naming strategy was a departure from SEATs usual approach and added a unique touch to the vehicle. I believe this naming choice reflected the cars ambition to stand out in its segment.

The entire Audi A4 B7 production and assembly lines from Ingolstadt were dismantled and installed in Volkswagen Groups related SEAT factory in Martorell, Spain, to produce the Exeo.
