Nissan has officially discontinued the Terrano in India, removing it from their official website. The decision was largely due to the vehicle not receiving a BS6 facelift and declining sales. Nissan is now focusing on other SUV models, including the upcoming Kicks SUV.

The Nissan Terrano, which was priced between Rs. 9.99 lakh and Rs. 14.64 lakh, was available in six trims and offered both 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. The lack of updates and competitive features led to its discontinuation. I think this was a necessary move to make way for more competitive models.

Nissan Terranos interior, although improved from its Renault Duster counterpart, lacked standard features like climate control and a touchscreen music system, which are now expected in its segment. This shortfall in features contributed to its declining popularity. I believe modern buyers are very particular about these amenities.

The Terrano was known for its spacious cabin, massive 475-litre boot, and good NVH insulation. However, its design was seen as dated, and it failed to match the finish quality of rivals like the Hyundai Creta. Despite these positives, it wasnt enough to keep it in the market.

Nissan Terrano competed with the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, and Renault Captur in the Indian market. Despite its competitive pricing, it struggled to gain significant market share due to its lack of updates and features. I think the competition was just too strong.

The Terrano was launched in India in March 2013 and was built on the Renault Dusters platform. It had a 1.6-litre petrol engine and two states of tune for the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The vehicle had a good run but ultimately failed to keep up with market demands.

Nissan Terranos diesel engine was praised for its driveability and efficiency, but the vehicles overall package lacked the appeal needed to compete in the highly competitive SUV segment in India. I believe a more aggressive update strategy could have helped.

The Terrano had a 50-litre fuel tank and a wheelbase of 2673mm, providing ample space for passengers and cargo. However, its sales figures continued to decline, leading to its eventual discontinuation.
