About
The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is a roadster that replaced the SLK55 AMG in India. It features a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 367 PS of power and 520 Nm of torque, channelled through a 9-speed automatic gearbox with paddle-shifters to the rear wheels. This setup allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The SLC 43 is known for its agility and handling, thanks to its compact wheelbase and well-tuned suspension. The interior, though slightly dated, is luxurious and comfortable, making it suitable for both family use and spirited driving. The car was a direct import and competed directly with other premium roadsters like the Audi TT and BMW Z4 in the Indian market.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is a compelling package for those seeking a blend of performance, luxury, and driving excitement. While the interior may feel slightly dated by recent Mercedes standards, it remains a fabulous space with excellent comfort and premium feel. The cars agility, thanks to its compact wheelbase and well-tuned suspension, makes it a joy to handle, especially on twisty roads. It is quick to turn in and holds the intended line very well, although some might find it a tad too light on its feet. The 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine delivers impressive power and torque, making the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.7 seconds a thrilling experience. However, the electronic top speed limit of 250 kmph might feel restrictive for some enthusiasts. Overall, its a great choice for those who value both performance and luxury in a roadster.
Price
The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 was launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 77.5 lakh in Delhi. However, its important to note that this model has been discontinued, and current prices may vary if you are looking to purchase a used or pre-owned model. On-road prices would have included additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could have pushed the total cost to around Rs 90 lakh or more, depending on the state and city. Given its performance and luxury features, the SLC 43 was competitively priced against its rivals like the Audi TT and BMW Z4, but its discontinuation means buyers will need to explore other options or consider purchasing from the pre-owned market.
