Mercedes-Benz updated the interior of the 2013 C-Class with features like 5.8-inch central display, COMAND interface, and MB-Tex vinyl upholstery. The Sport Plus package added more luxurious touches such as DINAMICA inserts and contrast red stitching. I think these interior upgrades make the C-Class feel more premium.
March 22, 2013
The 2013 C-Class saw the introduction of new trim levels, including the AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus packages. These packages offer enhancements like 17-inch and 18-inch AMG wheels, bi-xenon lights, and sporty interior upgrades. I believe these trim levels give buyers more options to customize their vehicle to their preferences.

In terms of safety, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class came equipped with standard features like stability and traction control, antilock brakes, and multiple airbags. It also included advanced systems such as Attention Assist and optional Lane Tracking packages. This emphasis on safety makes the C-Class a reliable choice.

The C-Class for 2013 also featured a new ECO mode with an automatic engine stop-start function, which helps in improving fuel efficiency. This feature shuts off the engine when the car comes to a stop and restarts it when the driver is ready to move. I think this is a great step towards reducing fuel consumption.

Price

Pricing details and changes

In India, the 2013 Mercedes C-Class C220 CDI was priced between approximately ₹50 lakh to ₹60 lakh ex-showroom when new, depending on the city and the variant specifics. On-road prices typically push this figure closer to ₹60–65 lakh, factoring in taxes, insurance, and registration fees, especially in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Today, with the model being discontinued, a well-maintained pre-owned C220 CDI commands a resale value between ₹10 lakh and ₹15 lakh, reflecting its luxury pedigree and durable engineering. The original purchase price positioned it firmly in the premium segment, which is reflected in its quality build and comprehensive feature set that justify the investment. Considering the overall ownership experience, maintenance costs and servicing for such a German luxury sedan tend to be higher than mainstream vehicles but are moderate relative to higher-end Mercedes models. For buyers, this price-to-value balance means the 2013 C220 CDI offers a strong entry point to luxury driving, provided the vehicle is maintained properly in India’s service network.
December 6, 2025
In India, the 2013 Mercedes C-Class C220 CDI, when new, was priced in the range of approximately INR 38 to 42 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), but currently, only used models are available. Used C220 CDI variants generally range between INR 10 to 15 lakh depending on condition, mileage, and city. On-road prices add about 10-15% over ex-showroom, considering registration, insurance, and taxes. From an ownership perspective, the purchase cost might seem high initially, but the car’s build quality, performance, and brand cachet justify the premium. The depreciation curve is significant, so buying a well-maintained used model often provides better value for money than buying new. Given the robust build and timeless design, maintaining the car well extends its life and ownership satisfaction. I recommend checking vehicle history and service records carefully while negotiating.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The 2013 Mercedes C-Class C220 CDI delivers competitive mileage for a luxury sedan, roughly between 14 to 17 km per litre in mixed city and highway driving conditions in India, with highway mileage touching up to 18-20 km/l under optimal conditions. This diesel engine's efficiency helps moderate running costs despite the car’s premium positioning, making it a practical choice for buyers concerned about fuel economy alongside comfort and performance.
December 6, 2025
The Mercedes C220 CDI offers an impressive mileage of around 16 to 20 km per litre on Indian highways, with city figures closer to 12-14 kmpl depending on traffic and driving style. Considering its diesel engine and efficient automatic transmission, running costs remain reasonable for a luxury sedan of its size. If your priority is reasonable operating cost alongside luxury and performance, this model strikes a good balance.

Mercedes C-Class Exterior

A new model has been released that bridges the big gap between entry luxury and compact cars performance. The Mercedes-Benz C Class comes in a coupe range that the company itself introduced some time ago. Along with these exciting coupes are new types of the C Class sedans, which have been pimped in and out. The C-Class models come with a dramatic front end, mixing high-pitched angles with elegant curves and advanced components like LED daytime running lights. Inside the vehicle are some features that are not only useful but ergonomically made to match the modern style of Mercedes in different degrees of sport and class, trim line and build design. The new Mercedes C-Class has a more noticeable grille to equal other new Mercedes-Benz models, but the general style has been brought forth with a sleek, curved roofline balancing the smooth side of the sheet metal that is crisp from the front to the back details. Moulded lines in the hood, and particularly along the lateral part, add poignancy and more vitality to the design. The new vehicle lures on its four-door brother's tip-offs to give a car a revamped Mercedes-Benz look, which is a bit more athletic and racier than the sedan in its extents. There's more sprint-inspired element in the coupe models while a classy style is the sedan models’ edge. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupes are brushed up with an elegant trim and an extraordinary steering wheel, with sophisticated materials and finest textures at the front-line of both models.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class gives an allocated backrest which can be easily folded frontward on a 1:2 ratio. The head restraints can move straight on together with the backrests without the need of removing any of the components first. Versatility is what the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is concerned about. The back seat rest are separated on a 1:3 or 2:3 ratios which can be moved forward. The luggage partition volume can be extended from 485 litres to 690 litres once the vehicle is laden to roof height of up to 1500 litres after the back seat rests are bent forward and the vehicle is full to roof height. The stability control feature mechanically spots it when the vehicle’s control limits have been surpassed and cuts the engine power and uses select brakes to aid or stop the driver from trailing control over the vehicle. The car also has airbags such as front-impact airbags which protects the driver and passengers from possible injuries during a frontal smash. The side impact airbags also at the front seats have been installed to keep the upper part of the body safe during a side impact crash. Seat-belt pretensioners have been added to mechanically tighten seatbelts to keep the occupant in the best seating position during a smash. The anti-whiplash head restraints dynamically respond to back collision forces and cradle the occupiers head to prevent any chances of a whiplash injury. Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes with a security system that detects unsolicited vehicle invasion.
