Maruti DZire Diesel ZDi Plus (Old Model)

About
The Maruti DZire Diesel ZDi Plus is built on a new, lighter, and stronger platform borrowed from the Baleno, which enhances its safety and structural integrity. The car is powered by a reliable 1.3-litre diesel engine producing 74 bhp and 190 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The ride quality is exceptional, handling Indian roads with ease, and the car features a range of comforts including automatic climate control, reverse camera, and electrically foldable ORVMs. While the AMT option is available, the manual transmission is more seamless, especially for highway driving. The car also comes with dual airbags, ABS, and other safety features, making it a well-rounded package for those seeking a practical and efficient sedan. However, some areas like the fit and finish of plastics and noise insulation could be improved. Overall, its a reliable and efficient choice that balances comfort, features, and economy well.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti DZire Diesel ZDi Plus, from the 2017-2020 model range, is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient sedan, particularly for city driving. While it may not excel in every aspect, its strengths lie in its amazing ride quality, which effortlessly navigates through Indias often challenging road conditions. The diesel engine, though not as powerful as some of its competitors, offers impressive fuel efficiency, with real-world mileage figures of up to 28.09 kmpl on highways. However, the AMT transmission, though convenient, can be jerky during upshifts, especially on open roads. The interior is comfortable, but some areas, such as the fit and finish of plastics and noise insulation, could be improved. Overall, its a good option for those prioritizing fuel efficiency and city comfort, but it may not be the best choice for highway enthusiasts or those seeking a smoother automatic transmission.
Price
The Maruti DZire Diesel ZDi Plus, during its production run from 2017 to 2020, was priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant typically started around Rs. 9.07 lakh. However, the on-road price, including taxes, registration, and other costs, would have been closer to Rs. 10.5 lakh to Rs. 11 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing made it an attractive option for buyers looking for a feature-packed sedan without breaking the bank. The value for money was a significant selling point, especially considering the cars reliability, fuel efficiency, and the extensive service network of Maruti Suzuki in India.

Average in Looks and Performance

I bought second hand Swift Dzire from one of my friend. He has completed only 20,000 kms on it when I purchased. There are misconceptions that used cars always create problem, But touch-wood, I never went mechanic yet. The things annoys me about my car is its light colored interior which get dirty very often. I have to call dry cleaners for washing once in a month. Starting from driving seat, it is comfortable for short height person, as I am 5'8" my left leg always hit plastic panel right above the clutch. Though it supports 5 seating capacity but the legroom it offers is not enough for comfortable seating. Moreover, its head-room is severely limited by the sloping roof. The cargo capacity is low that it can hold a weekend's luggage of a nuclear family. It delivers average performance and pickup is also low.

Pros: Appealing Interior

Cons: Seat height, headroom, legroom, Cargo Capacity
