Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Select is a compelling option for those seeking a balance between features, performance, and affordability. This variant stands out for its value-for-money proposition, offering a significant number of premium features while being priced lower than the top-spec Z8. The 2.2-liter diesel engine, in particular, is a highlight with its excellent refinement and robust power output, coupled with drive modes like Zip, Zap, and Zoom. While it misses out on some conveniences such as automatic headlights, wipers, and power folding mirrors, these omissions are not deal-breakers given the price difference. The Scorpio N Z8 Select also boasts a stylish Midnight Black paint scheme, 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, and a feature-rich interior with an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and six airbags. Overall, it is an excellent choice for buyers who prioritize essential features and a strong performance without breaking the bank.
Price
The Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Select is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom prices start at around 16.99 lakh for the petrol manual and go up to 18.99 lakh for the diesel automatic. On-road prices in cities like Mumbai can range from 20.35 lakh to 23.08 lakh, depending on the variant and transmission choice. This pricing makes the Z8 Select approximately 1.65 lakh cheaper than the Z8 petrol-manual and 1.11 lakh cheaper than the Z8 diesel-manual, offering a substantial savings without compromising on key features. The price difference is significant enough to make the Z8 Select an attractive option for those looking for a feature-rich SUV without the premium tag of the top-spec Z8.
Latest Updates
Tuesday, 02 July 2024 07:42 PM
Mahindra has updated the Scorpio-N Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8L variants with new features, including a wireless charging pad, a high-gloss finish on the centre console, and for the Z8L, ventilated front seats and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. These upgrades come without any price increase, following a recent price hike of Rs 10,000 across all trims. I believe these additions will significantly enhance the comfort and convenience for Scorpio-N owners.
Tuesday, 02 July 2024 12:42 PM
The Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select and other Z8 variants now come with a new Midnight Black exterior color option, which was previously exclusive to the Z8 Select. This new color adds to the aesthetic appeal of the SUV. I think this move will attract more buyers who prefer a sleek, black finish.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select variant is distinguished from the standard Z8 by its exclusive features and color scheme, although it lacks some features present in the standard Z8, particularly in terms of drivetrain options. It is only available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) form. I think this makes it a good option for those who dont need four-wheel drive but still want the premium feel.

Mahindra has achieved a significant milestone with the Scorpio-N, rolling out the 1,00,000th unit in less than two years. This indicates strong market demand and consumer trust in the vehicle. I believe this milestone is a testament to Mahindras ability to deliver a popular and reliable SUV.

Mahindra has commenced deliveries of the Scorpio-N, marking a significant step in making this SUV available to customers. The Scorpio-N is praised for its design, performance, and advanced technology. I believe the start of deliveries will further boost the vehicles popularity in the Indian market.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 10:08 AM
The mileage of the Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Select varies based on the engine and transmission choice. For the 2.0-liter petrol engine, you can expect a mileage of around 10-12 kmpl in city driving and up to 15 kmpl on the highway, depending on driving conditions. The 2.2-liter diesel engine is generally more fuel-efficient, offering a mileage of approximately 12-15 kmpl in city driving and up to 18 kmpl on the highway. These figures are based on real-world driving experiences and can vary depending on factors such as traffic, road conditions, and driving style. However, the diesel automatic, with its 400 Nm of torque, tends to offer better fuel efficiency compared to the petrol variants, making it a more economical choice for long-distance driving.
