Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Scorpio-N Z4 is a formidable contender in the SUV segment, offering a compelling blend of power, comfort, and safety. With its muscular design and robust build quality, this vehicle exudes a presence that is hard to ignore. The 1997 cc mStallion TGDi engine, producing 200 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, makes it one of the most powerful options in its class. While the third-row space is somewhat limited, the overall interior is well-appointed with features like a responsive touchscreen, height-adjustable driver seat, and comfortable seating for the front and middle rows. The Scorpio-N Z4 also boasts a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, which is a significant selling point. However, the long waiting period and some minor quirks, such as the small headlight switch, are points to consider. Overall, it is a solid choice for those seeking a powerful, safe, and feature-rich SUV.
Price
The Mahindra Scorpio-N Z4 is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price in New Delhi is approximately Rs. 15.49 lakh. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other miscellaneous expenses, the price can escalate to around Rs. 18-20 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes the Scorpio-N Z4 a value-for-money proposition, especially considering its powerful engine, extensive feature list, and robust build quality. The cost of insurance, which can range from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 100,000 for full coverage, is also a consideration. Despite these additional costs, the Scorpio-N Z4 remains an attractive option for buyers looking for a premium SUV experience without breaking the bank.

Mahindra has updated the feature list of the Scorpio N, with changes applicable to bookings made from January 2024. The Z4 variant of the Scorpio N will no longer come with features like a cooled glove box, AdrenoX suite, Built-In Alexa, and a coloured instrument console. This move is part of the Integrated Material Cost Reduction (ICMR) process. I believe these changes might affect the overall appeal of the Z4 variant slightly.
Tuesday, 02 July 2024 04:28 PM
The Mahindra Scorpio N Z4 has received new features, including ventilated front seats and an auto-dimming IRVM, which are expected to be added to the mid and top variants soon. Additionally, a wireless charger with active cooling and a high gloss centre console have been introduced in the top variants. These updates enhance the comfort and convenience of the vehicle. I think these additions will make the Scorpio N even more attractive to buyers.

Mahindra has hiked the prices of the Scorpio N by up to Rs. 39,300, depending on the variant, engine, and transmission. This price increase is part of the ongoing market adjustments. The Scorpio N Z4 now starts at Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in New Delhi. I believe this price hike might impact the sales slightly, but the vehicles popularity should remain steady.
