In February 2024, the Mahindra Armored Light Specialist Vehicle (ALSV) underwent testing by the Indian Armys Trishakti Corps at the Teesta Field Firing Range. In 2022, Mahindra revealed a mortar-carrier variant of the ALSV, equipped with the Milanion NTGS Alakran mortar system, named Vehicle Mounted Infantry Mortar System (VMIMS). This variant can fire 8 rounds in two minutes and has a maximum firing range of 6.5 km to 8.2 km, making it an effective shoot and scoot platform.
