Land Rover Discovery HSE (Diesel) Updates

The 2025 Land Rover Discovery HSE has been upgraded with a more powerful D350 turbo-diesel engine, producing 257kW and 700Nm of torque, a significant increase from the previous D300 engine. This new engine also features a 48V mild-hybrid system. The fuel consumption has slightly increased to 7.8L/100km. I think this boost in power will make the Discovery even more appealing for those who need both performance and efficiency.

Land Rover has introduced a special 35th Anniversary edition of the Discovery, celebrating the models launch in 1989. The Discovery 35th Anniversary HSE comes with unique features such as XXXV Anniversary Edition badging, black roof rails, privacy glass, and a head-up display. It is priced at Rs. 1,33,17,600 before on-road costs, making it a premium offering in the lineup. I believe this edition will attract loyal Land Rover fans looking for exclusivity.

In terms of pricing, the 2024 Land Rover Discovery HSE with the D300 diesel engine was listed at around Rs. 1,29,02,000. This pricing reflects the vehicles premium features and capabilities. I think its a bit steep, but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and performance.

The 2024 Land Rover Discovery HSE comes with a range of comfort features, including 20-way power-adjustable driver’s seats with heating and cooling, Windsor leather upholstery, and a fixed dual-pane panoramic sunroof. These features enhance the overall comfort and luxury feel of the vehicle. I believe these additions make the Discovery a great choice for long family trips.

The 2024 Land Rover Discovery HSE has been praised for its refined diesel engine and off-road capabilities. The D300 turbo-diesel engine, though now replaced by the D350 in 2025 models, provided smooth and quiet performance around the city and impressive torque for high-speed overtakes. The adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist features were also highlighted for their seamless integration. I think the Discovery remains a top choice for families needing a versatile SUV.

Land Rover has emphasized the importance of driver assists in the Discovery HSE, with features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and speed limit alerts receiving positive feedback for their smooth and smart operation. These technologies make driving safer and more convenient. I think these features are a significant selling point for safety-conscious buyers.

The Land Rover Discovery HSE is known for its incredible off-road ability, thanks to its electronic air suspension, adaptive dampers, and Terrain Response selectable drive modes. Despite its size, the Discovery handles well both on and off the road, making it a favorite among those who need a vehicle for various terrains. I think its off-road prowess is unmatched in its class.

In a review of the 2024 Land Rover Discovery HSE, the vehicles interior and technology were commended. The 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and digital instrument cluster were noted for their user-friendliness and modern feel. However, some users found the two-step boot lip to be a bit fiddly. I believe the tech upgrades make the Discovery a strong contender in the luxury SUV segment.

The 2024 Land Rover Discovery HSE has been noted for its unique design, though some critics find it a bit awkward-looking compared to newer models like the Defender. However, its distinctive appearance still appeals to many who value its character. I believe the design is part of its charm and sets it apart from more generic SUVs.

Despite its many strengths, the Land Rover Discovery HSE has faced criticism for reliability issues, with some owners reporting frequent visits to the service center for various problems. This has impacted its resale value and overall satisfaction for some buyers. I think Land Rover needs to address these reliability concerns to maintain customer trust.
