Jaguar XF Pure (Diesel) Updates

The Jaguar XF Pure (Diesel) has officially ceased production as of early 2024, marking the end of an era for this luxury sedan. This decision is part of Jaguars shift towards electric vehicles, with the company focusing on more profitable SUV models. I think this is a significant loss for sedan enthusiasts who appreciated the XFs unique blend of style and performance.

In its final production run, the Jaguar XF Pure (Diesel) was available with a 2.0-liter diesel engine, producing 201 horsepower and featuring mild-hybrid assistance for improved fuel efficiency. This engine was praised for its smooth operation and decent fuel economy, making it a practical choice for daily driving.

The XF Pure (Diesel) stood out for its comfortable ride and handling, particularly on twisty roads. Despite being a larger vehicle, it managed to offer a driving experience that was both enjoyable and refined, making it a favorite among keen drivers. I believe this aspect will be missed by those who valued the XFs driving dynamics.

In terms of interior and design, the Jaguar XF Pure (Diesel) boasted an impressive interior with high-quality materials and generous passenger space. However, the boot volume was somewhat limited, and the boot lid was narrow, making it less practical for loading large items.

The XF Pure (Diesel) was known for its alluring design, which was a hallmark of Jaguars styling prowess. The vehicles exterior and interior design elements were highly praised, even as the model aged. I think the design of the XF will remain one of its most enduring legacies.

As production wound down, there were reports of customers facing issues with ordered specifications not being fully met, with some features missing from the delivered vehicles. This was attributed to Jaguar using up existing stock of parts rather than ordering new supplies.

The Jaguar XF Pure (Diesel) was priced competitively in the Indian market, often undercutting its main rivals such as the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series. However, its resale values were not as strong as those of its competitors.

The vehicle came with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which, while smooth, was sometimes criticized for being sluggish in response to quick acceleration demands. Despite this, the overall driving experience was generally positive.

In the Indian market, the XF Pure (Diesel) was popular among company car drivers due to its lower CO2 emissions and subsequent lower benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax category. This made it an attractive option for those looking to minimize tax liabilities.

The Jaguar XF Pure (Diesel) featured a range of standard features, including a power-adjustable steering column, heated steering wheel, and a digital gauge cluster. These additions enhanced the overall luxury and comfort of the vehicle.
