The Hyundai Xcent E Plus, along with other variants, has been removed from the companys India website, marking the end of its production run in the country. This move follows the introduction of the Hyundai Aura, which has replaced the Xcent as Hyundais sub-4 metre sedan offering. I think this is a strategic move to focus on newer models, but its sad to see the Xcent go.

Hyundai updated the Xcent E Plus and all other variants with additional safety features, including ABS and EBD across all trims, along with dual front airbags. This update was aimed at enhancing safety and competitiveness in the segment. I believe these safety features were a necessary step to keep the Xcent relevant in a safety-conscious market.

Hyundai introduced a factory-fitted CNG version of the Xcent Prime, although this was mainly targeted at fleet operators and not the E Plus variant specifically. However, this move indicated Hyundais attempt to diversify fuel options and appeal to a broader market. I believe offering CNG options can be a smart move in a fuel-conscious market like India.

The Hyundai Xcent E Plus received a facelift in April 2017, which included restyled exteriors and more powerful engine options. This update was intended to make the Xcent a more complete sedan, but it still struggled to match the sales of its main competitor, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. I think the facelift was a good effort, but it didnt quite change the game for the Xcent.

The Hyundai Xcent E Plus was noted for its value-for-money features, including body-colored door handles, wing mirrors, a day/night interior mirror, and a rear armrest with cupholders, all available for a relatively small premium over the base model. I think these features made the E Plus a compelling choice for budget-conscious buyers.
