Ford India has announced that it will stop production of its locally sold models, including the Ford Aspire. This decision affects over 4,000 employees and means that the current lineup will only be available until stocks last. The company will continue to support existing Ford car owners. I think this move will significantly impact the Indian automotive market, especially for those loyal to Ford.

The Ford Aspire is available in two trims: Titanium and Titanium+, priced from Rs 7.28 lakh to Rs 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, both paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. I believe the Aspires engine options and features make it a competitive choice in the entry-level sedan segment.

Ford Aspire does not feature a sunroof in any of its variants. Despite this, it offers several other premium features such as Ford Pass connected car tech, push-button start/stop, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen. I believe the absence of a sunroof might be a minor drawback for some buyers, but the cars overall package is still quite compelling.

The Ford Aspire Trend variant has been discontinued, and currently, the Aspire is available only in Titanium and Titanium+ trims. This change in the lineup might affect buyers who were looking for the Trend variants specific features and pricing. I think this discontinuation reflects Fords strategy to streamline its offerings in the Indian market.

The 2018 Ford Aspire facelift introduced new engines and additional features, including updated aesthetics. The facelift included a new 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, along with features like auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. I think these updates enhanced the Aspires appeal and made it more attractive to potential buyers.
