If you know what you’re getting into, it’s not a deal breaker. In reality, most EVs don’t attain their advertised range. But if you're just using it for city commutes, 200-250 km is more than enough for a week of driving.

I'd say it is a deal-breaker. Tata shouldn't be permitted to advertise such inflated numbers. It’s misleading and can leave new EV owners stranded. They should test using a more realistic method.

The range is okay, but Tata needs to be more transparent with real world expectations. They might be able to give a range of what performance they expect with different driving conditions.

That's all about managing expectations. If you have an ICE vehicle, you have to change your way of thinking. If you plan your trips and use regen braking effectively you'll be amazed how far you can go.

Tata’s after sales service may be the deal breaker though, not the range itself. The bigger concern than the range discrepancy is if they can't fix charging issues quickly.

This is definitely teething problems. There are always going to be issues with every new model, particularly a new EV platform. That's a good sign, Tata's been pretty quick to address them.

I think there are more serious problems than just teething problems. Safety concerns include charging failures and shutdowns. This was rushed to market without proper testing by Tata.

It’s unfair to compare Tata to international brands that have decades of EV experience behind them, I think. They are learning and getting better quickly.

If you think of the long term savings on fuel and maintenance, the price is justified. Also, you’re getting the latest EV tech in a small package.

It’s really overpriced for what it is. For the same money, you can get a much better equipped ICE SUV. It’s too expensive right now.

In city driving, the Punch EV blows the ICE version out of the water. It's just so much more fun in stop and go traffic due to that instant torque.
