Chevrolet Tavera Neo3 Max TCDi (Diesel) Updates

Chevrolet India discontinued the sales of all its products, including the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 Max, effective December 31, 2017. This move marked the end of the Taveras long run in the Indian market. I think this was a significant loss for those who valued the Taveras spacious and practical design.

In 2016, General Motors India announced that it would extend production at the Halol assembly plant until March 2017, contrary to earlier plans to close the facility. This extension allowed for the continued production of the Tavera Neo 3 Max for a few more months. I believe this decision was crucial for meeting the remaining demand for the vehicle.

The Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 Max was known for its diesel engine, which offered good low-end torque and highway driveability. The vehicle featured a 2499 cc TCDi diesel engine producing 72.4 bhp and 171 Nm of torque. This made it a favorite among those who needed a reliable and powerful MUV. I think the engine was one of the Taveras strongest points.

In 2012, Chevrolet launched the Tavera Neo 3 BS IV with a new 2.0-litre TCDi direct injection diesel engine sourced from Sonalika, which produced 105 bhp and 262 Nm of torque.
