BMW Z4 is powered by a N54 type engine that is a direct injection twin-turbocharged straight-6 automobile engine from BMW. This engine has won five ‘International Engine of the Year’ awards. The 3.0-liter six cylinder inline petrol engine of this roadster makes 2979cc of displacement. The power produced by this engine is 306 bhp at 5800 rpm and the maximum torque generated is 400 Nm at 1300 rpm.

BMW Z4 measures 4239mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1291mm in height with a wheelbase of 2496mm. Its kerb weight is 1585kg and the fuel tank capacity is 91 litres. It can reach a mark of 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds. The 7-speed automatic transmission allows it to reach a top speed of 250 kmph. The BMW Z4 35i being a convertible offers a perfect comfort along with awesome performance. The lightweight aluminium construction involved in the high performance braking system of BMW Z4 offers a promising handling capabilities for the vehicle.

The front and rear wheels are armoured with large ventilated disc brakes with dynamic stability control. It also supports anti-lock braking system (ABS) that avoids the interlocking of the brakes when applied hard. The electronic stability program (ESP) provides safety while braking and keeps the vehicle steady. It has a feature called Dynamic Driving Control that is used to switch between the normal, sport and sport+ drive option. The air conditioner of this roadster allows dual zone climate control feature. The air conditioner vents are accurately placed over front middle and end so that perfect conditioning can be obtained. Its AC also supports the heating, air conditioning, along with heated seats and heated steering wheel. The wipers of the BMW Z4 sense rain and start acting depending upon the intensity of the rain.

The dash integrated music system is best in its class that supports CD/DVD, Aux-in and played through powerful speakers. This roadster runs on 17-inch radial tubeless tyres with alloy wheels that improve the exterior looks of the roadster. The auto headlamps activates when they sense low visibility. The xenon headlamps provide sufficient visibility in dark. Other safety features of this roadster include four airbags, parking sensors, fog lamp and traction control system (TCS).

The dual airbags are provided in front, side and head supports for both the driver and co-driver. The bumpers are fitted with aluminium that absorbs the impact on collision. The body colored bumpers and the front grille adds special looks to this BMW. It is available in four colors named as Black Sapphire, Titanium Silver, Alpine White and Deep Sea Blue.
