The 790 is way more fun. The handling is so much sharper than the MT 07, and that engine is a ripper.

MT-07 all day. It's cheaper, still plenty of bike for the street, and more reliable. Most riding is overkill for the 790.

I own both, and I like the 790 better. The twisties were a whole lot better with the extra power and better suspension.

The MT-07 is the more well-rounded bike. It is more comfortable, easier to maintain, and still has more than enough grunt for a fun ride.

790 hands down. After you ride one, the MT 07 is just boring. It's just so much more engaging on the KTM.

Reliability alone would get me to take the MT 07. KTM's are fun, but sometimes a pain in the ass to keep running.

Both of them are great bikes, but for different things. The MT-07 is a do-it-all workhorse; the 790 is more of a precision tool.

I have ridden them both extensively, and, for me, the 790 is more capable, but the MT07 is more fun in normal riding. It's so easy to throw around, and it's so playful.

Every time you ride the 790, it feels special. The MT-07 is a good bike, but it doesn’t have that excitement.

The MT-09 has more grunt at the bottom end, whereas the Street Triple feels smoother all round. Either can't go wrong.

I like the MT-09 feels more raw and exciting to me. The Street Triple is great, but it’s almost too polished for my liking.

Fit and finish is on another level over the Triumph. The MT-09 is fun, but it's much cheaper feeling.

The MT-09 was chosen because it was cheaper and Yamaha dealers are easier to find here. Both are great bikes though.

The Street Triple has a better stock setup, but the MT 09 could be made to work better with some upgrades.

If you’re not smooth with your inputs, it’s only too aggressive. If you learn to be gentle, then it’s not a problem.

The earlier ones could definitely be snatchy, but the 2021+ models are much better. A throttle tuner helps a lot.

I love how responsive it is. It makes the bike feel alive, whereas, some other bikes feel numb.
