| Bajaj Chetak is credited with the title of being the most gentle personal commute of its time in the Indian market. It was once the king of Indian road, helping thousands of Indian families in their daily commutes. It was powered by a 145.5 cc, single cylinder engine producing 7.5 BHP at 5500 rpm and 10.8 Nm at 3500 rpm. The two stroke engine was mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, providing easy shifts through the hand shifter on the left side.
