Volkswagen India is all set to shake the hatchback market in India with the launch of all-new small car in 2012. No announcement has been made by the company about the name and exact date of the launch. It is expected that the new car will be unleashed at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi and will be priced around Rs. 3.5 lakhs for petrol model, this means that it will be positioned below polo and will copmpete with the likes of popular hatchbacks by Maruti, Chevrolet, Tata and Hyundai. It is also expected that Volkswagen India may also launch the new small car in diesel. The new small car will be based on the platform of Volkswagen UP1 or Lupo.
