Toyota Rush is a compact SUV that is soon going to launch in India by Toyota. It seems to be a great combination of style and sturdiness and got positive reviews in the countries where it was launched. The exterior of Rush gives it a rugged and sporty look with large front grille and bumper with aero kit, stylish integrated stop, turn signal and reverse lamps in rear, rear bumper with aero kit, a protector for rear bumper to avoid scratches, spare tyre on the rear door with sporty cover and chrome finish, bright front projector headlamps and fog lights, chrome finish door handles, stylish door trim, door visor to prevent rain from entering the SUV, fold-able and retractable wing mirrors with turn indicators, huge roof rail, stylish rear spoiler, high mounted LED stop lamp and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The interior and comfort features of this SUV includes different seating combinations (seven-seater mode, six-seater mode, two-seater spacious mode, single-seater stretch space mode and two-seater casual mode) due to sliding seats, double folding arrangements and specially folding third row seat, leather covered A/T gate type shift lever with shift lock, dual blower air conditioning system, spacious dashboard with matte silver trimmed black-painted analogue combination meter, various convenient storage spaces, stylish three spoke leather covered steering wheel with switch controls, fabricated seat materials, height adjustable driver seat and protective solar film to reduce heat inside the car. It also has a 2 DIN audio system with tuner, CD player, MP3 player, USB port, AUX-in, i-Pod compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity and six powerful speakers steering mounted switch controls to keep you fully entertained and take your breath away.
Toyota Rush has a powerful 1495cc 1.5L In-line four cylinder DOHC VVT-i petrol engine which generates a maximum power of 108 bhp at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 141 Nm at 4400 rpm and is mated with a five speed manual gearbox transmission and also with a four speed automatic, gate shifter gearbox mechanism. As far as safety of the passengers is concerned, it has ABS with EBD to avoid wheel lock-up during emergency brakes and to apply similar braking power on individual wheels respectively, dual front SRS Airbags, engine immobilizer, cabin sensor, siren with back up battery, emergency kit which includes first aid kit, jumper cables and a safety triangle, anti-jam power window on driver side, child safety door-lock, collapsible steering column, reverse sensor to alert you in case of getting too close to anything while parking and GOA (Global Outstanding Assessment) Body to minimize the impact of collision by dispersing the collision force throughout the body frame.
It has a kerb weight of 1220kgs and minimum turning radius of 5.2m. It has a fuel tank capacity of 50litres. The suspension of this SUV is McPherson Strut with Coil Spring and Stabiliser Bar at front and 4-Link with Coil Spring and Lateral Rod at rear. It has disk brakes at front and drum brakes at rear. utside India, Toyota Rush is available in three variants which are 1.5S (AT), 1.5G (AT) and 1.5G (MT). It has five beautiful shades which are Silver Mica Metallic, Black Metallic, Grey Metallic, Champagne Metallic and White. The price and warranty of this SUV is not yet disclosed as it is expected to be launched in coming months. Overall, this SUV seems a good combination of style, luxury, safety and space. But its future in Indian market will be decided after Toyota will release its price range, performance and fuel efficiency.
