Compact, attractively styled and full of surprises: This is Skoda Yeti. Very similar to the original Yeti concept, seen at Geneva in 2005, the production version adds five doors and a simpler front end, with a traditional Skoda grille and spotlights. This 4.2 metre long, five-door vehicle bears the well-known features of the brand. An impressive front end with a ribbed grille and friendly looking headlamps confidently demonstrates the design of Skoda Yeti. Skoda Yeti was initially launched in two variants: Ambiente and Elegance. But due to poor sales figures, the company has added a new 4x2 variant which is powered by 1968cc diesel engine, which generates maximum power of 110 bhp with maximum torque of 250 nm. Yeti is now available in four variants: Active 4x2, Ambition 4x2 (name changed from Ambiente), Ambition 4x4 and Elegance 4x4.

Skoda India has launched the Yeti in diesel only, it sports a 2.0 litre common rail diesel engine which generates maximum power of 140 bhp at 4200 rpm and 320 nm of maximum power at 1750 rpm. The engine is mated to six speed manual transmission and also features all wheel drive system which makes Yeti a serious off roader. To increase the sales the company has now introduced 4x2 variant which is powered by 1968cc diesel engine, which generates maximum power of 110 bhp with maximum torque of 250 nm.

Skoda Yeti is available in four variants: Active 4x2, Ambition 4x2, Ambition 4x4 and Elegance 4x4. The main difference between elegance and ambiente is that Elegance has 6 airbags in comparison to 2 in ambiente variant and it has 12 speakers with music system in comparison to 8 in ambiente variant. The Active variant has 4x2 drive system and doesn't feature ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
