Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the passenger variant of its popular utility vehicle Maxximo and it has been christened as 'Maxximo Mini Van". It is available in two variants - 7 seater and 8 seater. Mahindra Maxximo is a small van with a unique C2 CRDe engine that is one of its kinds. This engine is powered with eight valves in 2 cylinder and DOHC (double overhead camshafts) that provides perfect balance between power and fuel economy. It has dimensions as 3677mm (length), 1540mm (width), 1845mm (height) and wheelbase of 1845mm. It has a diesel engine that makes 909cc of displacement and generates the power of 25 bhp at 3600 rpm and the maximum torque generated is 55 Nm at 2200 rpm. This B+ segment van is used as MUV (multi utility vehicle) and can achieve a top speed of 70 kmph. It has four-speed manual transmission with single plate dry clutch. It has cable-operated gear shift that allows the shifting of gears effortlessly.
The front tyres use IFS (independent front suspension) with McPherson strut suspension and leaf spring with shock absorbers is used in rear suspension. It has a fuel tank capacity of 33 litres and gives an average mileage of 20 kmpl. Its kerb weight is 1090 kg and the gross weight is 1750 kg. With LSPV (load sensing proportional valve) it has disk brakes at front and drum brakes in rear wheels with booster assist technology. The booster assist technology magnifies the braking pressure resulting in the faster deceleration and the chances of spinning of vehicle will be minimal and the vehicle will be stable.
The Maxximo doesn't have mechanical cable operated accelerator instead it has drive-by-wire technology that consists of a sophisticated paddle position sensor that closely tracks the position to which you press the accelerator. This information is sent to ECM (engine control module) that results in fast response from the vehicle. The robust monocoque chassis keeps the vehicle stable at high speeds and reflects minimum damage in case of collision. The ergonomically design and well cushioned seats provide comfort for the long drives. It comes pre-equipped with full length rexin roof liner that maintains the cabin temperature at comfortable levels at all times. It is available in three colours named Appy red, diamond white and school yellow. The ex-showroom price of Mahindra Maxximo minivan is around 3.05 lakhs in Delhi (approx., may vary).
