Hummer H2 SUV Review

Overview

Hummer H2 SUV: Tough Beast, Big Personality

Let's talk about the Hummer H2 so. Here we have that exactly unapologetically bold ride, SUV, that’s rugged and screams here I am! For me it’s like one of those action heroes from those old movies like it was a lot … built tough, loud and it had a style that you can’t ignore.

Why the H2 Still Stands Out

It just grabs me that the Hummer H2 is so big. It’s not around to fit in, it’s about owning the road. You can see an H2 from a mile away, and to be honest, that’s what most folk like about it. It's not meant to be subtle. Bold, big, and just so you know: it makes a statement and doesn’t even need to. Thus if you are the type who likes to make an entrance, trust me the H2 has your back.

Driving Experience

Driving the H2 is like it’s a fortress behind the wheel. High up, heavy, and you’re not sneaking through traffic in this one. But that’s part of the charm. While not the quickest SUV around, that’s not what the H2’s about – it’s about being a truck that gives people on the road the stop too. Under the hood, you’ve got serious power with its beefy V8 engine—a lot of it to handle pretty much anything from rough trails to snowy backroads.

Picture this: you’re sitting up in that driver’s seat, looking all around you. It feels like solid thing, they just sit in a command center on wheels. You know whatever this beast can handle you can handle it. The H2’s got you covered with some serious capability if you are an off roading fan as well. It’s not just a pretty face, it's built to survive the distance, no matter how much dirt the road becomes.

Inside the H2: All About Comfort and Space

Stepping into the H2 is a bit like stepping into a mobile living room. It’s leather, it’s space, and those seats make more sense as cozy armchairs than car seats. Roomy — more like “stretch your legs without even trying” roomy. When you’re sitting up high like that, too, it almost feels like you’re driving one of those luxury dens on wheels.

Then there’s the thing about those chunky controls and knobs that just work. Everything is solid, easy to find, and easy to get your hands on. There’s no overload of tech, you won’t find every little thing you’ll ever need, the idea here is just to give you what you need and nothing more. Straight forward utility with no distractions.

Fuel Economy: Not for the Faint of Heart

Finally, we get around to the elephant in the room. Fuel economy? That’s not really a strong suit of the H2. Honesty blurted that no one’s buying a Hummer to sip gas. This one gulps. When you choose an H2, you’re basically putting your signature on the line for a car that apparently loves fuel almost as much as it loves getting noticed. If you’re driving this thing, you probably aren’t tracking miles per gallon. And that its about the experience and that larger than life personality.

Is the H2 Right for You?

The Hummer H2 isn’t ever for everyone. This is definitely not your match if you’re looking for a sleek eco friendly crossover. If you want something that feels like a rockstar and is built like a tank then this could be your dream machine. It's got that all American spirit, all the quirks, all the boldness it insists on going with.

Of course, owning an H2 isn’t just all about getting a big SUV. You have to join an exclusive club. It’s a statement. You’re not just moving from point A to B; with your cars being big, your power being solid, and being unforgettable in the style department, you’re saying that. Trust me, people know when you roll up in this beast.

H2 is a fantastic SUV and is certainly worth considering

Deepak Kumar | 2 years ago

In general, the Hummer H2 vehicle has a truly remarkable look and feel to it. It is a joy to drive, has great features, and offers a unique experience. The only disadvantage is the fuel economy, which is what caused the brand to be discontinued in the first place. When compared to other full-sized SUVs of a similar size, the H2 has a slightly lower fuel economy. However, this is compensated by its distinct styling and its off-roading capability. It is a shame that the H2 was discontinued and GM is rumored to bring it back in an electric form. It will be exciting to see what GM does with the Hummer brand in the future. Despite its fuel economy issues, the H2 is a fantastic SUV and is certainly worth considering.

The interior, which was covered in cheap, beige and grey plastic

As I clambered onto the enormous, American-made vehicle, I was really excited about the prospect of getting to drive it. However, my enthusiasm quickly evaporated when I saw the interior, which was covered in cheap, beige and grey plastic. Oh, and t the centre console storage compartment isn't much better - I accidentally cracked it when I leaned my elbow on it. To be honest, the dashboard material in your kid's Power Wheels is of a higher quality than the one in the Hummer H2.

Made to look cool, but that's about all

Shantanu Shubham | 2 years ago

When you lay eyes on a Hummer H2, you realize that it was made to look cool, but that's about all. There's a faux central tire inflation system, and the gas mileage is unimpressive at just 12 mpg. Parking the H2 is a challenge due to its size, and the interior isn't very spacious compared to the exterior dimensions. In fact, the cargo space is even smaller than a Honda Pilot's. You'd expect the brakes to be effective, yet it takes forever to slow down, and you get a whiff of burned brake pad emissions in the cabin. Was this normal? Who knows, but it was definitely a frightening experience.

Issues with oil pressure were a typical grievance

Sujit Kuamr Verma | One year ago

Issues with oil pressure were a typical grievance, repairs for this kind of issue can cost up to 5,70,000 INR
Many 2006 Hummer H2 proprietors detailed noisy thumping clamors close by coolant misfortune. Most of them supplanted their oil siphon to determine the issue, yet, in many cases, the issue stayed. Sadly, a few drivers had to supplant their motor to take care of the issue. A few 2003-2006 Hummer H2 proprietors have grumbled that their SUV is inclined to motor stalling and low idle speed. Ordinarily, servicing the throttle body fixed the issue. Throttle body cleaning regularly expenses some place in the scope of 18,000 - 20,000 INR
On the off chance that you experience this issue with your Hummer, note that various hidden issues can cause your H2 to stall. Thus, it's ideal to take your vehicle to an auto fix shop for legitimate analysis.

If you're a serious off-road enthusiast, the 2009 HUMMER H2 is the ideal vehicle for you. If you're not, this car is nothing more than a costly, fuel-hungry fashion statement—or an image liability.

When I started the LS V8, it purred with the distinct rumble characteristic of that kind of engine. The H2's motor definitely delivers on the Hummer's reputation.

The H2 had a seven-year run and saw a variety of power and engine sizes. All of them were powered by GM-sourced small-block LS V8s, a type of engine used in many different vehicles, from Suburbans to 240SX drift cars. The 2008 H2 onward was equipped with the 6.2-liter, boasting 403 HP and 417 lb-ft of torque. This model was upgraded to a six-speed gearbox, which was notably better than previous models.

The 2009 HUMMER H2 offers decent road performance and impressive off-road capabilities, but its abysmal gas mileage and heavy weight make it less than ideal. Nevertheless, the iconic H2 still represents the pinnacle of luxury off-road performance.

GM deserves credit for making the H2 quite capable, far more than most other SUVs at the time. Thanks to its shorter front overhang and 47-degree approach angle, the H2 could easily outclimb the Chevrolet Tahoe, its mechanical counterpart. However, it was still no match for the Hummer H1 in the trails.

The 2009 HUMMER H2 depends so much on image and pulls in such a lot of consideration that it has become the objective of feedback from ecological drivers who oppose its fuel proficiency to drivers of an alternate political belief—both of which are absolutely preventing numerous shoppers from thinking about the HUMMER H2 as reasonable transportation.

As you approach a Hummer H2, you rapidly realize the entire thing was built quickly to look cool on the road, and nothing more. All the classic Hummer design cues like the central tire inflation system are actually fake.
