Another Try to boost sales - 2011 Honda Jazz.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Honda has given mid-life facelift to the Jazz hatchback and it has been launched in India today (18th August, 2011).  As expected Honda India has launched 2011 model of Jazz at very competitive price of 5.50 lakhs for the base model, this price is ex-showroom in New Delhi. From the day one when Honda Jazz was launched Honda India has failed to grab decent market share in hatchback segemnt. The last time when Honda revealed the sales figures of Jazz, it was around 381 only which is very less in comparison to the segment leader i20 which is selling in very good numbers around 6000-7000 cars every month. Honda India also gave whopping discount of 1.75 lakhs on Jazz to clear the stocks and make way for the new model.

My have a swift. My son has suddenly shot upto 6ft 3 inches height and is finding it difficult to sit in the back seat. We have decided to change the car, took a test Drive of Toyota Liva, Nissan Micra, Ford Figo, New Swift, A Star for its autmoatic, Ritz, and a Jazz. We saw the new Brio too. Jazz stood out in terms of Space, luxury, Engines smoothness, Clutch and Brakes. It is truly luxury, class apart and no comparison to any in its class. We have booked one and are waiting for the 2012 vehicle. The car is class, luxury and beyond comparison. Amazed.

Prices are good. But,how are Honda cars as a package? Are there enough service centers around eh country?being in a transferable job, this is a particular issue for me.Are spares parts easily available and reasonably available and are service charges fair.I have heard that while Honda cars are very good and reliable, but should a need arise for repairs(and inevitably they will given )the spares are expensive and in short supply. The dealers are also known to be overloaded with cars and individual services/treatment is shoddy.
