The Slavia and Virtus provided satisfactory occupant protection in the side impact test. It scored 14.2 points out of a potential 17. In side pole impact tests, the two midsize sedans obtained an 'Acceptable' grade. But protection for the chest region was marginal. The Slavia and Virtus' bodyshells and footwell areas were stable and capable of withstanding more loadings.

Slavia and Virtus performed in the child occupant protection testing. They received 42 points out of a possible 49, giving them a 5-star rating. This includes 12 out of 12 points it received for installing the Child Restraint System. It received 24 points out of a possible 24 in the dynamic scoring.

The dummies of an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old child were used in the test. Both seats were facing rearward. They were secured in the vehicle with i-size anchorages and a support leg. Both contributed to the prevention of head exposure in a frontal collision. The CRS also provided complete side impact protection.

While both vehicles come standard with 3-point seatbelts in all sitting positions. They do not provide the option of disabling the front passenger airbag if a rearward-facing CRS is placed in that position.

Because the entire testing system has been revamped. The comparison of the vehicles tested under previous and new protocols is challenging. A star rating under the old procedures reflects front crash test performance. Whereas a star rating under the new rules reflects more rounded protection.
