Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus Now Available in GT Trim

Volkswagen has extended the range of its Taigun and Virtus vehicles with new GT variations that feature unique visual upgrades such as Chrome, Sport and Edge trims. These variations give clients more options by offering distinct features and styles. With a range of styles to accommodate varying likes and preferences the GT versions now appeal to a wider range of consumers.

Introduction of New GT Variants

Volkswagen has revamped the GT variants of the Taigun and Virtus, dividing them into three trims: Chrome, Sport, and Edge. Unique styling elements are featured on each trim such as chrome highlights on the Chrome trim, blacked-out inserts on the Sport trim, and special colors on the Edge trims. These additional variations increase the appeal of these models by giving buyers more customization and choosing alternatives.

Variants Details

The Chrome trim, available across the lineup, features chrome inserts on the exterior, giving a premium look to the Taigun and Virtus. On the other hand, the Sport trim offers blacked-out elements on the headlights, grille, bumper, and roof rails, along with red brake calipers and all-black interiors with red contrast stitching, creating a sporty and dynamic appearance. The Edge trim, available with both the Sport and Chrome trims, continues to offer exclusive Matte Edition and Deep Black Pearl hues adding a touch of sophistication to these models.

Powertrain Options

The Chrome trims are powered by the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, available in the GT Plus and GT variants, while the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine is reserved for the Topline, Highline, and Comfortline variants. The Sport trim, previously limited to the 1.5-litre engines, now offers the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine in the GT Line, expanding the appeal of the GT variants to a wider audience.

Expected Launch and Pricing

The new Taigun variants are expected to be launched in April, with pricing likely to remain similar to the existing variants. The entry into the GT variants will be more accessible, due to the availability of the 1-litre engine in the GT Line. The Virtus GT Plus Sport, which is still a concept, is expected to be launched in the second half of 2024. The current prices for the Taigun and Virtus start from Rs 11.69 lakh and Rs 11.55 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

Volkswagen has demonstrated its dedication to provide its customers with a wide range of alternatives with the introduction of these new GT variants for the Taigun and Virtus. Volkswagen is accommodating a range of tastes and preferences by offering customers more options when it comes to equipment and appearance with the Chrome, Sport, and Edge trims.
