TVS Motor's September 2026 sales reached 6,72,790 units, up 24% from 5,41,064 a year earlier, according to the reported monthly release. Electric two-wheeler sales rose 110% to 65,799 units. The overall total, domestic two-wheeler figure and electric figure describe different parts of the business, so they need to be read together without adding overlapping categories.
What you need to know
Total September sales: 6,72,790 units, up 24% year on year.
Total two-wheelers: 6,45,955 units, up 23%.
Domestic two-wheelers: 4,82,073 units, up 17%.
Electric two-wheelers: 65,799 units, up 110%; these are included within the wider two-wheeler business.
Three-wheelers: 26,835 units, up 57%.
The September sales table
| Category | September 2026 | September 2025 | Reported annual growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total sales | 6,72,790 | 5,41,064 | 24% |
| Total two-wheelers | 6,45,955 | 5,23,923 | 23% |
| Domestic two-wheelers | 4,82,073 | 4,13,279 | 17% |
| Electric two-wheelers | 65,799 | 31,266 | 110% |
| International business | 1,80,700 | 1,22,108 | 48% |
| International two-wheelers | 1,63,882 | 1,10,644 | 48% |
| Three-wheelers | 26,835 | 17,141 | 57% |
The growth percentages are rounded as reported. Two-wheelers plus three-wheelers reconcile to the overall September total: 6,45,955 + 26,835 = 6,72,790. Domestic and international two-wheelers likewise reconcile to the two-wheeler total: 4,82,073 + 1,63,882 = 6,45,955.
Those checks do not mean every row is a separate bucket. Electric two-wheelers are a powertrain subset of two-wheelers. International business includes more than the international two-wheeler row. Adding every number in the table would double-count vehicles and greatly overstate monthly sales.
What the electric growth means
The electric two-wheeler figure increased by 34,533 units over September 2025, calculated from 65,799 minus 31,266. That is more than double the earlier year's count. It is a company sales figure, rather than an independently retained vehicle-registration extract for this article.
A higher monthly volume can indicate a growing electric business, but it does not prove why customers bought a vehicle, establish model-level demand or guarantee a particular scooter's range, reliability or delivery date. The release's aggregate electric total should not be assigned entirely to one model without a model-wise breakdown.

September and Q2 FY2027 are separate periods
The quarterly report covers July to September 2026. Reported total Q2 sales stood at approximately 19 lakh units, while two-wheeler sales grew 27% to approximately 18 lakh. Three-wheeler sales rose 47% to 78,475 units. Quarterly international business increased 35% to about 5.39 lakh units, and electric two-wheelers rose 133% to about 1.86 lakh.
These rounded quarterly figures should not be presented as September totals. Nor should the 27% quarterly two-wheeler growth rate replace the 24% monthly overall-sales growth rate. They refer to different categories and periods, which explains the differing headlines.
How buyers should use the release
Sales data helps readers understand the scale and direction of a business. It does not replace a test ride or an ownership comparison. A popular manufacturer may still have different availability across cities and variants, while an electric scooter's suitability depends on your route and access to charging.
Confirm the exact model, variant, battery specification and current on-road quote.
Ask for a written delivery estimate and check local authorised service coverage.
For an EV, confirm the charger supplied, charging location and battery-warranty conditions.
Compare company dispatch data with retail registrations only when their definitions and periods match.
Frequently asked questions
Did all TVS two-wheeler sales grow 24%?
No. The 24% figure covers overall monthly sales. Total two-wheelers grew 23%, and domestic two-wheelers grew 17%.
Should electric sales be added to total two-wheelers?
No. Doing so would count the electric subset twice.
Does 65,799 mean customer registrations?
The figure is reported as company electric two-wheeler sales. This article does not convert it into a registration count.
Is the Q2 total an exact monthly figure?
No. It covers three months and is reported in rounded lakh or million units for some categories.
