TVS Raider 125 Flex Fuel Version Unveiled

TVS introduced a unique version of its Raider 125 featuring FFT (Flex Fuel Technology) at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. This particular Raider 125, equipped with flex-fuel capability, is compatible with E85 and can run on a blend of 15 percent petrol and 85 percent ethanol. The TVS Raider 125 FFT made its debut with an eye-catching Blue and Black color scheme, accented by a vibrant green graphic on the tank bearing 'FFT' branding. The rear section of the bike is adorned in grey with blue stickers, while the wheels sport bright green rim tape to complement the green graphics.

Despite the introduction of flex-fuel technology, there have been no changes to the engine capacity or power output of the Raider 125 FFT. It retains the same 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, generating 11.38PS and 11.2Nm of torque. The transmission remains unchanged with a 5-speed gearbox, akin to the standard Raider 125. Additionally, the Raider 125 FFT is equipped with modern features such as an all-LED headlight and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.

The flex-fuel variant of the Raider retains the same underpinnings, boasting a telescopic fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable mono-shock. Braking duties are handled by a 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake. This 125cc bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 80-section front and 100-section rear tubeless tires.

During testing, the standard TVS Raider achieved an impressive mileage of 68.69kmpl. It is anticipated that the flex-fuel version may yield slightly lower mileage figures. The Raider FFT is projected to hit the market sometime between mid to late 2025.

The Indian government has been actively encouraging manufacturers to introduce E85-compatible vehicles as part of its efforts to reduce reliance on petrol and keep fuel costs in check.
