TVS Apache RTR 160 ABS has been launched in India for INR 84,710. The price hike is the lowest one in comparison to all the other products that have gained single-channel ABS as an option to date. The buyers looking for single-channel ABS and an additional rear disc can spend INR 87,719 on the motorcycle. The popular sports commuter is still the most affordable one in the performance section, leaving just products like Honda CB Unicorn 150 ABS behind in terms of ex-showroom price. Apart from the change in ABS status of the RTR 160, everything remains similar to the non-ABS version. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and claims a top speed of 110 kph. The front tire measures 90/90-17 while 110/80-17 rear tire balances the overall profile. The front disc brake measures 270mm while rear can be had with either 130mm drum or 200mm disc brake. Apache RTR 160 rivals Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet around the segment. FZ-S has left the league with much higher INR 97,000 worth price tag while their own RTR 160 4V can be had for INR 98,600 for the ABS-equipped version.

The Apache 160 is much better than the V15. It more powerful, quicker and agile. The 160 cc engine displaces an extra 10cc, and produces a power of 15 bhp @ 8500 rpm and a torque of 13 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The horse power of the Apache 160 is higher than the V15 by 4 bhp. But coming to mileage, the V15 obviously fares better as it retunrs 75 KMPL compared to the Apache's 60 KMPL.

RTR 180 is offered with dual channel ABS while RTR 160 is offered in single and double disc variants. The other difference comes in weights of both the bikes, which again is non differentiable as RTR 180 weighs 2 kg more. They even get the same tyres and performs very well on everyday road conditions. The engine difference between both the bikes make 180 a very good performer with less mileage and better top speed in overall comparison.
