Skoda Revises Kodiaq Lineup: Updated Variants and Prices

Skoda India has streamlined its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, by discontinuing the lower-spec variants, namely Style and Sportline. This move signifies a shift towards a more focused and premium offering with the top-spec L&K variant now being the sole option available to buyers.

Price Adjustment for the L&K Variant

The L&K (Laurin & Klement) variant, renowned for its luxury and high-end features, has received a significant price cut. Previously priced at Rs. 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom), it is now available at a more attractive price of Rs. 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This adjustment makes the Kodiaq L&K more competitive in the premium SUV segment.

Unchanged Feature List

Despite the price revision, the feature list of the Kodiaq L&K remains unchanged. Buyers can still expect a plethora of premium features. Including a panoramic sunroof, virtual cockpit, leather upholstery and advanced safety and driver assistance systems.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Kodiaq L&K continues to be powered by the robust 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This powertrain delivers a commendable output of 188bhp and 320Nm of peak torque ensuring a blend of performance and refinement. Additionally the standard four-wheel-drive configuration enhances the SUV's off-road capabilities and overall driving dynamics.

Implications of the Revamp

By focusing solely on the L&K variant, Skoda aims to strengthen its position in the luxury SUV market. The price reduction is likely to attract more buyers looking for a premium and feature-rich SUV experience. However, the discontinuation of the lower-spec variants may limit options for those with a tighter budget.

The revised lineup and pricing strategy for the Skoda Kodiaq reflect the automaker's commitment to offering a premium and value-driven product in the competitive SUV market. With the L&K variant now being more accessible, Skoda is poised to capture a larger share of the luxury SUV segment in India.
