Yamaha has recently launched its newly updated model of the NMAX 155 scooter in the European markets. The scooter is similar to the Yamaha Aerox 155, which was recently introduced in the Indian market because both are powered by the same engine that is used in the company’s YZF-R15 V4 motorcycle. The brand has made some modest improvements inside-out to make the scooter more trendy and appealing to younger customers for 2023.

The Japanese manufacturer has improved the scooter's appearance with features like a new LED headlight, a lower-placed handlebar, keyless ignition and minor external body revisions. The handlebar has been relocated by the company to make turning the scooter simpler. More legroom has been added as a result of the frame redesign. Riders of all sizes may ride it more easily because of the slightly higher handlebar.

Another update is the new CCU (Communication Control Unit), which can be linked with your smartphone. Once linked to the My Ride app on your phone, you can view all of the important information, such as service and maintenance schedules, as well as navigation, which the Yamaha Y-Connect and Yamaha ConnectX applications do not provide. For added convenience, it also comes with a 12V charging port.

The scooter now has a claimed fuel range of 300km owing to a bigger petrol tank that can hold 7.1 litres of fuel at once. The engine is still sourced from the R15 V4 sports bike. This is a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of close to 15 hp along with a peak torque of 14 nm. The engine is mated to V-Belt automatic gearbox while the brand claims a mileage figure of 43.47 kmpl.

This engine comes equipped with Yamaha's variable valve actuation (VVA) system. As far as its India launch is concerned, the company has not made any announcement yet and also the Aerox 155 has recently been introduced to the Indian market, hence, it can face some delay but it is surely expected to come to our country.
