Royal Enfield has unveiled their long-awaited middle-weight cruiser. RE Super Meteor 650 made its debut at the ongoing 2022 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. It shares the same platform as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, but with a few differences.

Super Meteor 650 has a low-profile stance and a 1,500mm wheelbase, which is typical of a cruiser. The design is like the smaller Meteor 350, but it appears to be more premium and imposing. The standard and Tourer models have been introduced by the Chennai-based bikemaker. While the former has five colour options, the latter has two. The Tourer trim includes a tall windscreen and a pillion backrest. It also features dual seats, panniers, a touring handlebar, and larger footpegs.

It comes with the 648cc parallel-twin engine that powers the Interceptor and Continental GT. But the max power output is lower at 46.2 bhp at 7250rpm. While the torque output remains constant at 52.3 Nm, it arrives late at 5650rpm. RE Super Meteor 650 comes equipped with 19-16" alloy wheels. These alloys are suspended by 43mm upside-down forks and dual springs. A 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm rotor at the rear handle braking duties.

The motorcycle has a semi-digital instrument cluster that looks identical to the unit found on the Meteor 350. The main cluster is also accompanied by RE's Tripper Navigation system. While the headlamp and tail lamp use LEDs, the turn indicators use standard bulbs. LED indicators are likely to be available as an option.

Royal Enfield is getting ready to launch the Super Meteor 650 in India. It will compete with the Kawasaki Vulcan S and the Benelli 502C in the global market on its arrival. It is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around Rs 3.25 to Rs 3.50 lakhs.
