Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Aurora Hits European Roads

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Aurora Hits European Roads

Royal Enfield has launched the Meteor 350 Aurora Edition in the European market. The 350cc cruiser was also launched in India a while back and the same has been carried to Europe now. Here is what the bike gets. The Aurora Edition of the Meteor 350 harps back the retro theme of the Royal Enfield cruiser. The bike is available in three colour options – blue, green, and black. The Blue and Green colours comprise a dual-tone theme with off-white paint on the fuel tank and the side panels. Then, the Meteor 350 Aurora also gets a large transparent visor and a bunch of chromed parts like mirrors, headlight bezel, and exhaust. Royal Enfield has powered the Meteor 350 by a 349cc, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 20.2bhp and 27Nm. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Then, the Meteor 350 rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks while the brakes include front and rear discs with ABS. Royal Enfield has also equipped the Meteor 350 Aurora Edition with spoked wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres.

In Europe, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Aurora is priced at EUR 4,990 (approximately Rs. 4.51 lakh sans taxes). For reference, the same model is priced at Rs. 2,19,900 (ex-showroom, Chennai) in India.

Think of a wide, really wide horizon for a view. The landscape transitions from spurts of shrubbery to a sea of aridness. The sun you left behind glints in your mirrors. All you hear within your helmet is the whoosh of the wind and, of course, a distinctive thump. You’re on a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and all is well in your world. The Meteor 350 is the easy cruiser - just the way you’d have wanted it - and it keeps you wanting to stay out under all kinds of skies, cruising away, even if without a destination in mind. Unsurprisingly, it now wears the hues of the sky, too, courtesy its new Aurora range. Soothing, dreamy colors - Aurora Black, Aurora Blue, Aurora Green - that make you feel like you’re above the clouds. That’s something the Meteor 350 already achieved to great effect, thanks to its pleasant ride quality, but now it goes a step further. Or higher, should we say?

It also winds the clock back a fair bit, with this evolution. It’s always had the silhouette for it but now, with its retro colors and graphics, it effortlessly paints an old world picture, while still carrying forward its modernity. Be it the lustrous chrome on the wire-spoke wheels or the chrome-finish engine, exhaust and other bits of trim, the Meteor 350 exudes classical charm as easily as it munches miles. Speaking of which, long, really long days on the road are exactly what the Meteor 350 is designed for. With its deluxe touring seat, the cleverly integrated Tripper navigation system and an LED headlight, the Meteor 350 is equipped comfortably for the sort of cruising days that don’t compulsively end at sundown. Oh, and it doesn’t simply stop at offering you all the goodies you need to make rides such as these breezy, it even takes care of those little aesthetic details that make long days in the saddle so much more pleasurable. The chrome bezel on the round speedometer, the aluminium switch cubes, the chrome ‘bar-end weights… the Meteor 350 plays ‘easy cruiser’ to perfection.

Nicely enough, you now get the aforementioned LED headlight and the aluminium switch cubes as standard on the Supernova variant, while the Stellar now gets the Tripper navigation system as standard fitment; lovers of the Fireball black shade can now rejoice as it’s now available as a standard colourway. Still dreaming of those really wide horizons? How about you get behind the ‘bars of a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and live that dream, for a change?
