At present, the world is fighting against the coronavirus pandemic. At this time of crisis, each country is taking its own set of preventive measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The Indian government has also taken several steps to tackle the COVID-19 crisis caused by this disease. A lot of companies, celebrities, and non-profitable organizations have come forward to offer their help.
Recently, Reliance Industries has announced a donation of INR 500 crores to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assitance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) fund. The company is also separately contributing INR 5 crores each to Gujarat CM Fund and Maharashtra CM Relief fund. They are also working on India’s first 100 bed hospital dedicated to COVID-19 patients.
In their recent statement, the company said: “RIL continues its 24×7, multi-pronged, on-the-ground effort to do its bit to ensure the nation remains prepared, fed, supplied, safe, connected and motivated to fight and win against the unprecedented challenges brought upon by the Coronavirus pandemic.”.
The Founder Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani said that it is the need of the hour to offer support to our marginalized and daily wage communities. They are pledging for 50 lakh free meals across the country for the next 10 days.
Reliance Industries is also taking necessary steps to provide 1 lakh masks and thousands of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily for health-workers. The Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani said: “We are confident that India will conquer the coronavirus crisis sooner rather than later. The entire Reliance Industries Limited team is with the nation in this hour of crisis and will do everything to win this battle against COVID-19”.
The company has recently also introduced 'Work From Home' plans on Jio to ensure that people working from home do not face connectivity issues at this time of crisis.
