The Astor SUV is now being delivered by MG Motor India. The mid-size SUV was introduced last month with a starting price of Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom). The manufacturer began taking reservations for the Astor recently, and the first batch of 5,000 vehicles was sold out on the same day. The company has delivered about 500 Astor units in the first phase in a single day and aims to supply 4,000 to 5,000 units by the end of 2021. Bookings for the SUV are still open. However, delivery will only be given in 2022.

The Astor is MG’s sixth model in India, and it uses artificial intelligence (AI), which aids in the integration of many upgraded driving and safety functions inside the vehicle. Talking about its design and other features, a redesigned front grille, LED projector headlights, integrated LED DRLs, halogen fog lamps, and LED tail lamps will be standard. Sport dual-tone alloy wheels, an integrated spoiler with a high mounted stop lamp, and a rear washer and wiper will be among the other design aspects. A panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and wireless charging will also be included in the feature list.

Moreover, the new MG Astor is available in five colour options: White, Red, Orange, Black, and Silver, as well as a ‘Dual Tone Sangria Red’ option, as revealed by the carmaker. The car will come loaded with plenty of safety features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and many more. The MG Astor is available with two petrol engine choices. The first is a 1.5-litre NA, while the second is a 1.35-litre turbo. Depending on the engine type/variation, transmission options may include a 6-speed manual gearbox, a CVT automatic unit, or an AT unit.
