MG Motor, in collaboration with JSW, has unveiled an eye-catching concept at a recent Mumbai event - the MG Comet EV Cabriolet. This concept car offers a glimpse into MG's vision for future electric and hybrid vehicles.
Design and Styling
- Exterior: The Comet EV Cabriolet Concept retains the overall design of the standard Comet EV but with a notable exception - the roof has been removed. This convertible design is complemented by a new dark green color highlighted with similar shades on the front bumper and wheels. While the chrome highlights may not suit everyone's taste they add a distinct flair to the concept.
- Interior: Inside, the cabriolet concept sports a fresh theme with red accents on the doors and dashboard, alongside new upholstery. This design choice emphasizes the spaciousness of the Comet EV addressing any concerns about the practicality of a 2-door EV.

- The concept car retains most features of the standard Comet EV, including dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, support for over 100 voice commands, and more than 55 connected car features.
- Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS + EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold control, an electronic parking brake, reverse parking camera and sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Performance
- The Comet EV Cabriolet is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery that drives a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It boasts a certified range of 230 km, with charging times ranging from 7 hours with a 3.3 kW charger to 3.5 hours with a 7.4 kW charger.
Future Prospects
