Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its AMG GT6 concept at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, where it will remain on exhibit until May 2024. Visitors can engage with a video presentation of the car by scanning a QR Code. Previously, Mercedes showcased their Vision Mercedes Maybach 6 electric concept at the same venue, followed by partnering with NMAAC to offer curated luxury experiences. Furthermore, the Mercedes EQG concept, which rotates 360 degrees, was recently on display at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.
The GT6 idea features wheels with a chrome finish and an integrated spoiler. It is propelled by a robust 585hp, 800Nm V8 engine and its design language has influenced the development of new AMG models.
What exactly is the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT6 concept?
Originally introduced in the Gran Turismo 6 video game in 2013, followed by appearances at various motor events, the AMG GT6 concept has now arrived in India. Featuring a center star-adorned recreation of the famous radiator grille, the concept pays homage to the renowned 300 SL race car. Unlike traditional louvres, this modern grille is equipped with LEDs. Furthermore, the AMG GT6 concept boasts a front-hinged bonnet with an LED headlamp arrangement.
The sleek, low-profile body, upward-hinging gull-wing doors, and turbine-like chrome-finished center-locking wheels contribute to its aggressive aesthetics. At the rear, the concept sports a boat tail design with an integrated diffuser and spoiler extending outward. Additionally, a slim LED strip runs horizontally behind the car, positioned amidst the eight exhaust tailpipes. Notably, this concept served as Bruce Wayne's vehicle in the 2017 Justice League movie.
The Mercedes-AMG GT and the SL 55 are two new AMG GT cars that this 11-year-old concept also hinted at. Under the hood, the AMG GT6 concept is equipped with a potent 585 hp, 800Nm V8 engine, reminiscent of the one found in the AMG E 63 S.
