Mahindra is developing a plethora of new cars for the Indian market. Currently, the brand is working on the next version of its popular SUV Scorpio and the test mule has been spotted multiple times while testing on the Indian roads. We have already seen some previous spy shots surfaced over the internet. In the earlier pictures, we were able to notice the exterior features only but now in the latest shots, the interiors have been revealed as well.

Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Features Electric Sunroof

According to the images, the new Scorpio will have roof-mounted speakers similar to the Thar, which has proven popular with customers, so the company decided to include them in the Scorpio as well. Another intriguing feature is that the forthcoming SUV will have a conventional sunroof rather than a panoramic roof like other modern cars. However, the introduction of an electric sunroof will attract Indian car lovers.

While talking about the other features, the leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel is also visible with audio and other controls mounted on it. The dashboard of the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio is completely covered in the spy pictures, although the centre console appears identical to Thar's, except that the infotainment system is in the middle rather than on top.

Furthermore, the next-generation Scorpio will remain a body-on-frame car with a revised ladder-frame chassis, that is likely to be shared with newly released Thar. It is also projected to be bigger in size than the current model, which should imply more interior space. The SUV is also likely to include connected car technology, which would significantly increase convenience. In one of the recent updates, it is also confirmed that the next-gen Scorpio will also come equipped with a 360-degree view rear camera.

In terms of launch, the new-generation Mahindra Scorpio is expected to hit the Indian market towards the end of this year or early next year. After getting launched, this SUV is going to compete with the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and its own sibling, the upcoming XUV700.
