The first batch has arrived at company dealerships. The XU400 EV is available in five colour options: Everest White, Arctic Blue, Infinity Blue, Galaxy Grey, and Napoli Black. The top-of-the-line EL variant is also available in a dual-tone colour option.

Mahindra XUV400 Electric EC variant with a 3.3 kW charger and 34.5 kWh battery starts at Rs 15.99 lakh. The 7.2 kW charger variant with a 34.5 kWh battery costs Rs 16.49 lakh. The top-of-the-line XUV400 EL variant costs Rs 18.99 lakh and comes standard with a 7.2 kW charger and a 39.5 kWh battery. These ex-showroom prices are introductory and are only applicable for the first 5,000 reservations.

Mahindra XUV400 features a closed grille, new LED inserts in its tail lamps, an updated front and rear bumper, and new fenders. The interiors of the XUV400 EV will feature a slew of new features. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Mahindra's Adreno-X software, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and drive modes of Fun, Fast, and Fearless.

It has a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry, OTA updates, power mirrors, and climate controls. Security features are 6 airbags on the top-spec trim, disc brakes, ESC, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

The front wheels of the Mahindra XUV400 Electric are powered by a single electric motor. This motor produces 150 HP and 310 Nm of torque, allowing the electric SUV to speed up from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 8.3 seconds. The top model of Mahindra XUV400 claims to deliver a range of 456 km on a single charge and a top speed of 150 kph, making it the fastest in its class.

A 50 kW DC fast charger is used for charging, allowing for an 0-80% charge in 50 minutes. The battery can be charged in 6.5 hours using a 7.2 kW AC charger, and 13 hours using a 3-pin 3.3 kW/16A domestic socket. This is Mahindra's first electric vehicle offering, which will be followed by the XUVe and BEV ranges in 2024. It will face competition from the Tata Nexon EV Max, India's best-selling electric vehicle.
