As per the latest media reports, it is being said that the electric version of the Mahindra XUV300 will be launched in India as XUV400. The company has already trademarked the names, Mahindra XUV400 and XUV900. The XUV400 is expected to be launched as a 7-seater model based on XUV300. The price range of the 5-seater XUV300 starts at Rs 8 lakhs and the seven-seater version is expected to get a starting price tag of Rs 9-10 lakhs.

Recently, Mahindra launched the XUV700 that has already grabbed a lot of bookings. In the three hours of its launch in the market, the company acquired 50,000 bookings all over, which is a great achievement in the history of car sales till now. The list of the rivals of the 7-seater version includes the MG Hector, Tata Safari, Hyundai Creta and according to its price range, it is expected to beat all of the mid-size SUVs.

Coming back to the XUV300 EV, at the 2020 Auto Expo, it was showcased as eXUV300. This EV was built-up on a modular architecture platform and was displayed with a 350-Volt powertrain while the production-spec model is expected to be equipped with a more powerful 380-Volt motor. The price range of the all-electric XUV400 base model will be equal to that of the Tata Nexon EV and the top model’s price will be the same as the MG ZS EV. The reports also reveal that XUV400 will be the company’s first electric car to use the battery cells developed by LG.

Mahindra collaborated with the Korean battery manufacturer, LG Chem for the latest technology lithium-ion batteries. There is a probability to see changes in the style and design of Mahindra XUV400 which could include the closed-off grille, unique front and rear bumpers and a different alloy wheel design, etc. The company is planning to launch the car in the year 2023 but due to the shortage of semiconductor chips, it might delay.
