New information about the upcoming Thar has been leaked online. According to the leaks, the SUV will have two powertrain options.

A new diesel engine, the D117 CRDe 1.5-litre unit with 117 PS and 300 Nm of torque, will be available. It will only be offered with a manual transmission. In comparison, the 2.2-litre diesel engine in the 4x4 version produces 130 PS but the same torque output of 300 Nm.

Mahindra will introduce two new colour options for the upcoming SUV. It will be available in the new colours Blazing Bronze and Everest White. Blazing Bronze is the same colour that is already available on the XUV300 TurboSport. Last year, the XUV300 TurboSport made its debut in the Indian market.
